Just a short little animatic I did on wally hidden phone call/message! Unfortunately, I do not have the motivation to finish this but I wanted to try something new out!
This is fantastic!! I adore the facial expressions, it can be difficult to work with characters that have permanant features like Wally's unmoving smile but you captured the elements of fear and confusion perfectly :) Hopefully more people see this because its wonderful, well done! 🧡
Just the video: *phone ringing* Hello…? Hello…? Hello…? Ha ha ha I’m only kidding. I know your there. Did you like my joke? *silence* I THINK you were going to say… yes! Ha haha *more silence* You know… It is hard to hear you think through this- -Funny phone of mine. It is as though you aren’t speaking. At all. Maybe it is just a lil fuzzy… Like me! Speaking of… Do you know who I am? *gasp* Oh no..! Well- That’s not neighbourly at all. We’ve never met before.
If you haven't found it yet, it's from the "it's for you" toy phone in merchandise section. The text says Wally's audio has been taken down, but it's actually still there if you click on the red button on the phone.
Everyone talking about Wally being hot as if he's not meant to be the more child-like character. Kinda gross if you ask me, i view him as I'd view my 11yo nephew, but y'know, creepy.
He's autistic. His creator intended for him to be an autistic adult. You are viewing the way that he acts as child-like because autistic adults often have child-like tendencies. (btw this is a hot topic because many autistic people hate being called childish, but think of it like this: when you're autistic you view the world completely different than a neurotypical person. You may feel like an alien constantly trying to adjust to a culture full of unspoken rules that you'll never understand. A child is a new person trying to adjust to the rules of this world. The way both adjust to the world is a little similar, but still very distinct. It's honestly very common to mistake autistic behaviors as child behaviors. Thats why you'll often see autistic people be told to "stop infantilizing autistic people" when they're literally just talking about their own symptoms. People just can't seem to believe it because google doesn't specifically say so and requires you to use critical thinking. A huge percentage of autistic adults also go through age regression because no autistic person DOESN'T have trauma related to bullying or abuse at a young age. A massive percentage of autistic adults also have ADHD which is also known to have a few childlike behaviors. Use this information however you want.) I'm saying all this as a level 2 autistic adult btw. The way he speaks reminds me a lot of how I speak as well as other autistic people I know. Specifically autistic people who are comfortable not camouflaging being autistic. Also the creator said we're allowed to lewd the puppets so we win anyway. Autistic people have sex.
