A unique feature of Moopun is the iconic Stone Bridge located at the top of the waterfall, which connects both sides of the Umjhai River. The word Moopun itself means “Stone Connect,” perfectly describing this natural bridge that spans 33 feet in length. Below the bridge, the waterfall forms a Natural Swimming Pool, perfect for a refreshing dip. Measuring 75 feet in length and 50 feet in width, it’s one of the most stunning natural pools in the region.
According to legend, the Kyllang Le Iaw (Water Goddess) once traveled from the Umhang Lake, located 30 km away in Bataw Village, to Moopun Falls, where she rested for three days before continuing her journey. The lush green surroundings, rare pitcher plants, and scenic picnic spots make this a perfect retreat from the hustle of modern life.
One of the highlights nearby is “Dem Khla,” a mystical place where tigers were believed to rest. Located just 500 meters from Moopun Falls, this spot offers breathtaking views of the Myntdu River, making it a must-see for visitors.
