Bro it looked great may i suggest making one with the hose reel amd hide the crank on the backside
@mfwoodshop

That would be better for sure. My purpose was just to hide the hose in the front yard. I don’t use it much.

the planter needs drainage holes for the water. also would like to see one of these with a wheel on the inside and crank on the outside in the back so you can just wind it up without taking the plants off. this looks great though, i like it alot!

I like this build. My wife has wanted something for the hose for quite a while now, and this gives me ideas. I have not seen anything commercially available that I like. I also like the part where you "autographed" the project. Reminds me of something I do/have done.

To improve your ease of cutting boards to the same length, you could set up a stop for your mitre saw it use a sled on the table saw. You only have to set it up once! I definitely won't let my wife watch this video!!! She's already got a long list! Nice build. Oh, and did you use exterior nails? I probably would have used exterior screws but just a preference.
@mfwoodshop
@mfwoodshop 8 лет назад
+The Jointed Edge yes on exterior nails. I cut the part out of the video explaining why I didn't set up a stop block. In short just didn't feel like it. Wasn't that many so I just ran with it. Thanks for watching.

nice project mike, preferably i would have like to use less nails and screws but for security reason maybe is need it. also a BIG opinion in my part i would have like to see the box with out the frame on the outside i think the clean look of the inside might be nicer. over all great video help out and keep up. THANK YOU for the video.

Great project Mike show us a picture when finish is cured. Hey you didn't say so if you drilled any holes for the water to escape from the planter. It can cause root rot if water stands in the bottom of the planter. God Bless my friend.

+Frank Ingram I did end up putting some hole it. But I thing we are going with fake flowers. My wife kills all the real ones.

@mfwoodshop
@mfwoodshop 8 лет назад
+Billy McCord I don't think very hard. This was a Hose that I didn't use oftener I didn't bother. I may die another for the front yard with a crank.
@BillyMcCord
@BillyMcCord 8 лет назад
Sounds like a great idea, I have one of those cheep plastic ones and it just sucks, because its so light, you cant actually roll up the hose with out putting a knee or something on the box... I may take the crank/reel out of it and build your project with the crank in side LOL
