Just think if he were still alive today the equipment he would have to make music. Looking at all that old equipment, computers, makes me wonder how he would do in today's music world. Hide was such a amazing musician. The greatest guitarist in Japan and I believe he would have set records if he were still alive. RIP Hide while you are gone your story lives on
Equipment is mostly the same today, especially with his preferred sound. The processing of the recorded audio is where the difference would be, but I think the fans would notice very little difference. However, hide preferred to push the boundaries. Songs like Scars and Drain are examples that indicate to me that he would experiment with very recent techniques that haven't been widely used yet. Just as you suggested. With the sound of popular music today, I am wondering if hide would be satisfied with what is available. Sometimes, I think he would rebel against what is popular and available. Sometimes I think he might have found collaboration with Western musicians or actually, European musicians. Western musicians are too narrow-minded and I think they would have frustrated him. But the European music industry would not be his preferred target audience. In the end, hide would be in a difficult circumstance because satisfaction would not likely be possible.
