I don’t know why heartless people end up working in the ER. I was told by a nurse to stop pretending to be in pain. Then the blood work and tests came back. The nurse was way off. She apologized. That doesn’t cut it for me. It isn’t okay to be unkind to anyone you are treating. This nurse has no excuse to treat you badly. I hope you are feeling better.
I thought the same when I was watching your husband crying out. If you can't have empathy for a patient then maybe it's time to find another career. I feel bad that your husband was crying, it takes a lot for a man to cry. I hope he got the help he needed and is doing better🌻
My ex suffered very badly with HS he was in so much pain he couldn't walk. Boils erupted under his arms his thighs and groin these were the worst. I wasn't just his wife but his nurse and carer. We struggled with so many medical people as most of them had never heard of HS as this was in 2000-2008. It took years for help. When he was so depressed because of this and couldn't hold down a job. When they erupted the mess and smell was disgusting he wore towels like a kilt he couldn't wear trousers everywhere he lay or sat were towels incase they erupted. He took his pain and anger out on me when all I could do was run after him I indulged in his every whim to keep him calm and happy I loved that man but after spending so many years being his punch bag and being on the end of his fists I had to leave for my on health and sanity sake. This illness is rare look up the stats it ruins perfectly wonderful people's lives I feel sorry for that man I understand his pain and anybody who suffers with this awful illness I prey for them. There is not enough known or cared about in the UK.
My heart goes out to you, I also had the same condition and had surgery under both armpits, luckily I haven't had any more problems, I was in and out of the ER too many times to count and every time they seemed to be aggravated with me like I was wasting their time, thankfully I was put in touch with a surgeon who took care of the problem, I wish you well

Although I don't have HS, I do understand suffering. When the words came up, "HERE'S WHERE THE PAIN KICKED IN" and I saw your tears, all I could do was cry. I KNOW that kind of pain! It's the kind of pain that's already pushing you to your breaking point, and then all of a sudden, it decides to explode out of control. It crashes over your body like an enormous Tsunami, forcing the breath out of your lungs and making every muscle tense. It's pure reflex to grit your teeth, hyperventilate and rock yourself to the point of almost shaking. Sleep is impossible, so on top of everything else, you look and feel like a zombie. Sometimes I call it the "Crazy Pain" because it can truly make you think you're losing your mind or going crazy. I wouldn't wish this on anyone! I have been a sufferer for 15 years. I have an extremely painful one under my left arm right now. I had a heart attack Christmas morning of 2016 due to lupus. Had to have two stents and a double bypass. Then 6 months later heart failure and mitral valve replaced. BUT I stopped getting abscesses!!! Ha!! Not anymore. They're back. Apparently a celebrity needs to come forward and say they have it because it seems nothing's being done.

I stumbled across this video and I never heard of Hidradenitis before until now. I was literally cringing when I saw you in pain and I cried for you. I asked God to help you, to give you strength. I know what pain is. I was injured badly in the military, (my spine), and I suffer from severe chronic pain. I had several surgeries where they put steel rods, nuts and bolts in my spine from my neck down to my butt. I to take Dilaudid and other pain meds. I find if I take a Toradol with my Dilaudid it works better together for pain. I know first hand how you were feeling and waiting for the pain killers to kill the pain. Minutes feel like hours. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong and never give up...May God bless you and help you to understand why you carry this painful burden. From watching your other videos I believe you are a huge inspiration to others! *huugs*

one of the things I've noticed with my hs is that I get relief from the pain in a hot shower but that the heat will also flare it up and cause more pain later. I don't take hot baths anymore and it has cut down my flare ups. also wanted to say that your wife has to be a strong person who by herself has stuck with you and helps you in ways that nobody else could. I'm blessed to have that kind of wife too. hope you get better soon
+Steve Barbet very very true trust me my wife is that one person that has struggled more than me at this point because after all that ive been through i wouldnt be able to give 10% back to her if she was in my position. that comes to show that theres that much she does for me that i dont think that i can ever repay her back for doing all of this. if it wasnt for her i wouldnt have even come this far in life... we are lucky men to have good partners for life and im glad to hear you have that connection with your wife. and the hot showers and baths do help but with a price to pay after the pain kicks right back in with more swelling but it does help with draining. Poor Jay, I can empathise with you, I have had one of these on my inner thigh, it was bigger than a tennis ball in size, they just punctured it, drained it then packed it. I was in hospital isolation for 10 days in agony, because they repacked it every day, after, if I got a boil i put solo site gel on it, covered it with a clear water proof dressing and sat in a hot bath to help draw it out and pop, I've had one in my armpit but is was only medium pain, so you have my sympathy, sending positive thoughts and energy to you and your family xoxox

That's terrible...to treat someone who's in pain so callously. I'm saddened to hear/see this. Sending prayers for health and healing out for you to receive the blessings.
I had this on the back of my neck in 97. 4 different doctors through there hands in the air then I went to a surgeon and he was going to cutout the are but when he got in their he could not trace down all of the tunnels that had developed. A year later I was introduced to a specialist from Canada. She went in and removed a large are from the back of my neck that was about 1.5 inches deep and the sizeof a pack of cigarettes. She didn't sew it shut so I would not move neck movement and just let heal from the inside out. After two months of packing it with saline soaked gauze it finally healed to the surface and now have drainage from one or two holes once a year with no pain. I do still have a line of holes just below my abdomen that flare up but nothing like the neck. God bless you and good luck

I went through the same thing about 9 years ago. I had to have surgery under both my arms.The worse pain ever. What helped my from getting them was dietary changes. Most doctors don’t even understand but I did have a physican who quickly diagnose me. But I feel bad for you but it will get better

I have this too but have learned to drain them myself before they get out of hand. As I took sugar out of my diet it almost stopped. It's not dirt or bad hygiene and it runs in familys. I never had one with a smell but have heard of it. I feel for you, I know how bad it is when they are inflamed and swollen. Good luck and love and peace. Blessings
omg i can't even imagine this kind of pain...and i thought razor burn from shaving my underarms can be irritatingly painful but this guy was in TOTAL AGONY from this skin disease. I pray you find a solution to this horrifying condition 🙏❤

Matt Daggett me too. Im concerned for the emotional and mental strain that level of pain will be generating without releasing the pressure off that swelling site. That level of pain intensifies by the minute...no let up and wont stop until that site is opened up or he passes out.
I've had cronic HS for years, the only relief came once I became depressed and was prescribed 30 mgm of citralapram. I've not had a major outbreak since, been 5 years now. Good luck for a pain free future x
@@dragonsky799 nothing about this disease makes sense. Some things work for some people and not others that's why its so important they find the actual cause of this. I was also prescribed citalopram (it's a depressing disease to have) but it didnt have any affect on my h.s.
Oh my word, u poor thing, I feel so much compassion for you. I would like to make a suggestion for the future, so that you may be able to circumvent a crisis. This works for muscle pain, too, even a crick in the neck. 1.) Take a small disposable cup, I like the ones that are kept in the bathroom for kids to use, that are paper. 2,) fill a few of them half way with water and freeze solid. 3) when you are experiencing the pain, take the ice cup, and peel the paper down to create a handle by twisting it under. 4) in a circular or back and forth motion, rub the area and surrounding tissue quickly. 5) THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP: when the skin begins to burn and hurt, DO NOT STOP. I promise you will feel like stopping, but honey, you are almost to the point of pain relief. Stay with it. At this point it should take about 30-60 seconds and then the area will become numb. I cannot implore you more to get past the freezer burn feeling, you will be rewarded with relief. I hope you can eventually get the surgery to help your HS in your arm pits. Best wishes!
Dilaudid is only meant for the most severe cases, like end stage cancer patients. It can suppress your breathing and kill you. You usually have to be in intensive care so you can be carefully monitored for complications from dilaudid. I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous a drug it is.
What they shud do ? Painkillers wont take all the pain away they cant help you so what ? theyy shud stop doing theyr work and cry ?? IM had several surgeries and some time is pain so hi that they simply cant give you more painkiller whit out damaging your liver. You just have to deal whit it. Im lived thru 2 excrusiating pain days even whit full painkillers. Some times there is just no way to help you whit out harming you and you have to live it thrue.
I too suffer from HS and am currently going through a flare up. You got a seriously bad flare up there. It really does help to know I’m not alone. I know this video is old but I hope your HS improves dramatically! Best of luck from Australia 🇦🇺

This honestly breaks my heart. I never realized how many people had HS. I have it and no words could describe how awful it is to live with it. It’s beyond painful, gross, embarrassing and so many more things. I’ve tried to talk myself into the surgery but that’s still not a complete cure, as I’ve heard it could still come back. I pray for people that suffer with this. I cried watching you in so much pain man, because you know what it’s like and I’ve been there so many times. I’m having a flare up right now actually. You’re in my thoughts, and so is every one else that suffers from this terrible disease. 😢
For the love of God. Why didn't they just drain that. I suffer from HS as well. The worst experience I have is when I get an idiot ER doctor who knows nothing about it and refuses to listen. I show them my scars because I have it on multiple locations. All I need is to have the location lanced, drained, packed, and antibiotics prescribed. Even now when I've been with the same health system for 10 years, if I get a new ER doctor who thinks I am just seeking pain meds, I am almost tempted to kick him in his gonads, tell him to take the pain meds, and contact my primary. A look at my record would give him all the answers he needs to know. The worst one I had was grapefruit sized on my inner thigh. I could not sit down. These tend to flare up in a matter of hours. Sometimes I am lucky and it will be a small knot. A call to my primary will result in him phoning in a script for antibiotic and a full flare can be prevented. Another thing that helps is using Chlorhexidrine 4% soap to bathe.
I feel so much empathy for anyone suffering in pain! I know that allot of emergency departments won't give pain killers so quickly, because they are overrun with addicts that go in claiming they're in horrible pain. It makes the nurses and doctors callous many times, not knowing who's really in pain. But when it comes to a condition like this, there shouldn't be such an issue with getting relief. I was once in the ER and wouldn't go back when called until they took another young woman first that was doubled over sobbing in chest pain for the two hours I was there. I don't even know how long she had been there before me, but when I first asked why she wasn't rushed back in urgency, I was thrown the line about ones that frequent the ER claiming they're in pain. My heart was tearing apart seeing and hearing her in such a pitiful state. I couldn't live with myself if I hadn't pushed them to take her back before I was taken in. The whole system is faulty and needs a serious makeover.
Mate I literally cried seeing this. I know it's not the same but I suffer from numerous chronic illnesses and have had 15 surgeries in 17 years. My heart breaks for you and I wish you nothing but the best of luck
i know exactly what you're going through. I've had this horrible disorder for about 20 years now since puberty. Not only is it painful but very embarrassing. Mine is worse on my inner thighs and groin. I'm happy to see that you have someone supportive and understanding there for you. I've been on spironolactone for about 5 years and it's helped a bit. The cysts don't get as big or become open sores like they used to be. Hopefully for you and i and everyone else that has this disorder will get a better treatment or cure very soon.
i know there are antibiotics for it. I'm at stage three myself and have it in every common area. the antibiotics i got prescribed though were $80 a pop which isn't feasible every month for 2. May God bless you. i wish that more people understood what is like to go through this and that more doctors would educate themselves to be able to do more for it.
@@GingysnaptheV I just finished 3mths of an antibiotic regime - was told it was the last line of defence that they keep up their sleeves til everything else fails and guess what... It failed too! If you notice, every few years they chop and change their thinking about what causes this and how to cure it. They have no idea and until they do how can the properly treat us
I shared an office with a very successful wound care nurse. She would “paint the area” of boils with Betadine several times a day for months!!!! Takes a long time, but eventually it would absorb and heal!

This makes me cry so much 😢 I remember I had a bad one under my arms and I was crying so hard and loud that a nurse came in the room thinking my nurse was going to need another hand but there’s nothing she could do, it’s just so painful. I cried until I felt all my tears were gone! I’m so sorry! I know exactly what your feeling, I’ve had HS since I was 14 and I’m 32 now so it’s been a long time 🙏🏼

I get pretty ticked when they see how much pain you’re in and then give the lowest dose of medication. When the first one didn’t touch it, then they gave you another waiting for the pain to calm down. Where’s the Dr. you should have been immediately put on a drip of some kind. Then take you for the C.T. Scan. Just send the nurse to do the work of the Dr. I could understand the lowest dose of pain meds if you were there for drugs. But you’re not just look at the arm. That’s just poor care.
As a nurse she needs to treat this man with respect and care. I've been a nurse for 27 years and I guarantee that he'd have the utmost care from me. How sad.

What is wrong with you people commenting on this nurse you know NOTHING about? Maybe it has something to do with performance anxiety? I'm a Registered Nurse and HATE being watched starting an IV let alone filmed! I wouldn't have worded it exactly like she did, but I would be super uncomfortable starting an IV being video recorded. To the extent of missing the vein, maybe. And I am a very compassionate person. (And capable nurse.) Just have bad performance anxiety. How dare any of you say she is in the wrong line of work when you know absolutely nothing about her or what she goes through in a shift. He has an obviously very painful cyst. Meanwhile, next door, one of her other patients is very literally dying. We are only human. We are NOT angels capable of OOZING compassion every waking hour. Sometimes the compassion is kept on the inside for a later time so we can complete a task and move on to the next of the thousands of things we have to do. It's when we go home and lie in bed that we cry for our patients. You know nothing of what goes on in a nurse's heart
Kim K He has a right to film his care. I've had a situation where I'm glad I video taped it because of being wrongfully treated and spoken to in a very unprofessional inappropriate manner. The doctor denied it, unbeknownst to him he was captured lying. Had I not had it the hospital would have not believed me and said his word against mine. Idk about this nurse, so I'm not commenting on her. My point is, the patient has rights.

I have hidradenitis and I and use to get the same inflamed glands under my arms and so many other places. I finally decided to have plastic surgery and had my lymph nodes and sweat glands removed. Thank God I haven't had anymore under my arms but I still get them in other places. Just the relief of not getting them under my arms anymore was worth the surgery. I totally understand your pain and went through it. When they would burst they hurt, stink, and ruined a lot of my clothes. I pray you get some relief.
Just a thought I have psoriasis I quit all carbs / sugar .just fat and protein and it has helped a ton idk if it will help but worth a try , get well good luck
My Wife has HS and has 35 operations from it ! A truly painful and not very many doctors understand it and the pain that goes along with it good luck 🙏
it was hard to watch this but i had to im stage 3 in both arm pits and i feel that pain everyday and now have to start to lance and drain the areas at home since doctors and nurse wont help or return calls. I hope that they give you some type if relief from that pain

I used to be able to get these taken care of at my primary care's office but their policy has changed so I now have to go to the E.R. I WILL NOT allow them to numb it without giving me something before hand. Usually demerol. It doesn't completely knock me out but makes it bearable enough that they don't have to chase me around the room to numb it up. Being diabetic, this is something I cannot ignore and hope it goes away (of course, we all know it doesn't). But it gets real scary real fast.
This literally has my stomach in knots. It's so very hard to watch you go through this. I can't imagine what it's like for your lady and your family and friends. I am so sorry. So very sorry. 😞

As far my lady goes much respect to her to be going through this with me, she tries her best to take my pain away when she can and is in tears at times because she is unable to do anything about it, and has to watch me suffer.Btw whats your name? friends and family well some support some don't understand and i get a lot of advise on how everyone thinks you should do as far as diets life style changes and so on and so forth they don't really understand that nothing helps something that can not be helped, this disease does what it wants when it wants I've tried everything( i really do believe this disease has a brain, its like our bodies are at war with us and we are always on the losing side) when their advice isn't helpful they tend to get frustrated that i'm not listening to them.I have to say I've had much more support and understanding from my wife than anyone else and now i have you guys.
I would have demanded a different nurse. some nurses are just power abusing over bearing rules Nazis. then there are some that are so nice, caring, gentle & compassionate they border on angelic.

I explaine about people who live with absolutely terrible diseases such as yours. The good Lord has given you so much to deal with, if it were me, I would have to question why!
