They scale well with quality amplification and DACs, if you'd like them to sound even better you could try the JDS Labs Element III. It's an all-in-one like the Zen DAC but a real step up in sound.
You lost me with the $525.00 dollar suggestion for a Moon Audio headphone cable! The best microphone cables in the world don't come close to that price and are far more critical in the audio chain than a headphone level signal cable. This is really sad to charge people such an absurd amount in my professional opinion.
