I have the 10D on trial for a few more days. Agree, they are VERY light and comfy! Sound is Super. Got them on Sale 50% Off! However, I'm having a hard time getting past the looks. They are so HUGE and the bright wood amplifies the size even more. But they make you look so comical when you put them on. Like Woody Allen pretending to be an astronaut! Decisions Decisions!!!
Thanks, for the very nice video I really apprechiate this helping video now I comforbly buy the hifiman he-r10 dinamic version!! Please make more of this nice content
Thanks gavin for an lnformative video you certainly go to a lot of of trouble to explain things. So that non audiophiles can understand and your enthusiasm shines through
Thanks a lot for review Gavin! I've got some questions: Can a dragonfly cobalt + iphone drive the r10d well? Do u prefer the r10d over the Denon d9200? Does the r10d go down in sound quality when connected to bluemini compared with using it wired? Thank you in advance!
Hi Jimmie. It can drive it ok, but these headphones scale up with desktop amps even better. I prefer these over the Denon, but the Denon are still good.Obviously, wireless loses a bit of sound quality.
When they came out, they were compared to high-end, kilobuck Audio-Technicas and AKGs, and they were superior in some areas that matter the most, so...
Is the sound really 4 THOUSAND dollars better? Wow. I've never seen such a major dynamic to planar cost discrepancy! I have the Final Audio (dynamic) Sonorous X headphones that I got direct from Japan under a cool pretense...and those are pretty much endgame for me. I pair them with my Cayin N8ii tube DAP with a balanced cable...and it's serious sonic bliss for sure!
Is a £1,000 headphone 5 times better than a £200 headphone. Obviously not. Always the law of diminishing returns. But the planar technology is superior in this case.
