Our First day in Antipolo, really had a great time seeing my family again after pandemic. Invited ”Higante” have street dancing infront of our house. It has been our town long time tradition, I asked a 70 year old guy as when this tradition started and he said that he doesn’t know when this all started, but he use to carry the ”Higante” when he was a teenager. He did mention that it is runned by the Nuestra Señyora de Anunciata that has been in Antipolo since the 1700’s.
This tradition starts on the week before the town fiesta, “Fiest of Immaculate Conception”. It brings joy to the locals as they dance infront of their homes. We invited them to dance with us while our family gather together again. With us is my friend from college and his family from Houston, TX and his daughter from Phoenix, AZ. and seeing our mom so happy watching us enjoying ourselves.
