We, the Catholic members treat the images (rebolto or pictures of the saints) as a symbol of our faith. We are not adoring that "IMAGE DIRECTLY" but our prayer are directed to God and the saints also for their "INTERCESSIONS" we are human beings, we have signs and symbols , example : if you are driving and you find an "ARROW" what does that image mean/ It shows direction. 2. If you see a "Skull" in the bottle, that means POISON. in our locality, if you see a a green leaves placed in the fruit tree that means do not get, or an arc with a bunch of stick with leaves put up entrance of the community that means visitors are not allowed to enter in that community because the community is having rituals and many more. Remember in the Old Testament Moses put up a a bronze snake, that is an image, so every Israelite who sees that image will ask forgiveness and be cured from their deceases, so Paul took that image and parallel it with the CROSS which is an image that every Christian who will look up to that cross will eventually be converted and live a good life. Isn't it. it is nice to place a picture of a saint in our wall or rebulto in our shelves to remind us to become a better person or rather to put a half naked picture of an endorser advertising a product, and other figurines in yourselves. are they not images, the figurines, the stuff toys and others. You mis-interpreted the "golden calf" in the Old Testament - we have many "Golden Calf" today - every thing that will lead you away from GOD, FAMILY, COMMUNITY THAT IS A "GOLDEN CALF": EXAMPLE: the abuse of using cellphone, TV, play station etc. and these things isolate you from others that is your "GOLDEN CALF". AMEN!
