The only riders I can think of who could maybe compete with his height (other than Watts, as we saw) are maybe Dennis Enarson and Larry Edgar. But I can't think of anybody who could compete with his style.
@@matthoover111 Dylan Lewis, Chris James, Tom Dugan might match or beat him on height. Maybe a younger Sebastian Keep too. Dovey style is sick, but he can't touch Aitken. Nobody can.
Dovey, for sure! And let me say: as a 50 year old man who has been obsessed with BMX since I was 9, I cannot express to you all the feels that came back from seeing that quarterpipe with the Swatch logo! Hella 80s vibes!
Bring me back to the days of Josh, white, Martin Aparijo, etc. late 80’s and on. My son, now 22, started off riding flatland but now rides street with Nathan Williams, Corey Martinez , Shane Weston… bmx in da blood
I've never in a million year could have imagined a high air jam where Chase Hawk is not the one going the highest. The style cat subgenre in BMX is out of control these days. Dovey is a monster!
LOVED THIS!!! This is a great example of the heart of bmx. Style, big air, the best vibes. Dove has to be the most stylish bmx rider currently and one of the top most stylish riders of all time. Everything he does looks incredible.
I wonder if the flare was a weird riding thing of his where he felt like he could get more height WITH a flare, like he can reach a more comfortable height that way…? When I used to do front flips over the box, for some reason I could air my highest on a box jump with the frontie cause of that ‘pop’ you do to pull it off, like a good foot higher. Straight jumping a box to get the most height possible I just couldn’t quite get as high. Different tricks and ramps, but I wonder if there’s one of those strange riding things similar to that for him.
What. a. crew. It's wild to see the progression. The BMX community wins this one because we get to watch this go down. Edit: That Wallace lookback was so good.
That emoji at the end was fucking hilarious cause I literally just did the same thing after seeing Watts and Dove’s height comparisons. Hahaha! 😂🤷♂️ sick riding 🤙
Damnn that looked loose as! Having ridden with the boys josh and Jason before they both shred as hard as each other! But the air is a tight one to decide, I’d probably say josh took that one but 🔥
seems like being goofy footed can be a great advantage, their legs can tuck in a bit more naturally (turning left while having left knee tucked closer), imagining it as a regular footed rider, it feels like having the front foot on the inside while boosting an air would feel pretty comfortable. Edit: another advantage 1 foot flattys come easier of course.. and nasty lookback's like Ben's
1. Dove. 2 Watts. 3. Wallace. Its a high air contest, if you all Doves airs together he went 12 ft higher than the next guy over the duration of the comp
Duude so hard Jason made a hard come back dove stayed strong till the end but Ben flair omg what a great event wish I can I make it to one looks like a super duper good time in bmx I have to make it to one 😂
I think high air contests should be based on whos wheels are the highest. The people want to see fat tables. Therefore Josh gets the win because Josh's front wheel was higher.
He was one of the first to hit 10ft during the practice session. Five minutes later when the contest started I was really surprised, not sure what happened
Everyone’s just built differently too, there’s quarter pipes out there that could’ve had different results, and some other quarters could’ve had the same results. That’s just the beauty of BMX, there’s so much talent out there now that any one of these guys can win, it all comes down to the setup and who’s personality vibes the best with that said setup.
