The worst part is, there are actually women who have done great things, and who's stories haven't been told yet. But they instead show all these fake stories. They aren't doing a service to anyone with that, neither the men nor the women.
Guys please stop complaining, it’s sad to see people care so much. Guess what, it’s a movie it’s not 100% accurate. This is always ok seemingly until it featured some minority then it’s pandering of some from. Just enjoy the story and appreciate any material or event it was based off
I got to see a circular rainbow 🌈 on my first plane flight. It was a SAAB 36 seater. I was stoked as a 12 year old. The cabin and cockpit were open and I got to check out the controls and talk to the pilot and co pilot. They purposely banked around so we could see it. Pre 2001 was a different world in commercial aviation.
This is one of the best-made movies to be made in the last few years. Excellently done and acted. The scenes are breathtaking! Nothing is quite like watching a movie like this for the first time. You don't know how it will end! Great movie!
This is based on a true story where they barley survived taking a balloon up to 31,000 ft. I've done alot of mountain climbing in California and Washington state and I've been as high as 14,000 feet. At 14,000 feet each breath gives you 60% of the air you'd get at sea level at altitude I had to slow down my climbing pace because I was feeling much weaker and more out of breath than I should be. The temperature in the nearby valley was 100 degrees but I was wearing a sweater and jeans because it was in the 40's on the mountaintop. Also I was having to skirt around snowfields even though it was July. At the balloons maximum altitude the temperature was about -50 degrees F and each breath would have got you 25% of the oxygen you'd get at sea level. I don't know how they survived that, if they stayed up there much longer they would probably die. When people climb really big mountains like Everest they climb the mountain slowly over a few weeks. The reason why they are not in a rush to get up the mountain is when you spend time at high altitude you're body makes more red blood cells increasing the amount of oxygen in you're blood and some of you're strength comes back. They would have a much better chance of surviving at that altitude if they had spent the previous 2 weeks on a mountaintop.
No movie is completly true they have to imbellish it alittle bit but 2 people did really take a balloon to that altitude, they did nearly freeze and suffocate and the balloon did take alittle damage from the really low air pressure. This balloon flight was critical to our understanding of the atmosphere we wouldn't have modern weather forecasting without a flight like this.
@@TehButterflyEffect it is based of james glaiser and henry coxwell but henrys charachter is replaced by the girl in the movie. in real life glaiser passed out at 28,000 ft and they were freezing to death, henry managed to climb the rigging at 29000 ft with no saftey equiptment because the valve was jammed meaning they kept rising up to their death. he successfully got on top and released it only to pass out on top of the balloon himself and then wake up when it had descended. its a mircale he was still breathing at that height let alone climbing the balloon with no fingers to use and no oxygen getting to his brain. they embelished the storm scene and the takeoff scene but this scene is probably pretty accurate apart from it being a woman in the movie
yeah i throw these up on my 2nd or 3rd monitor when im gaming and stuff, love these channels they've saved me alot of time getting stories without wasting hours watching them all individually , these channels have easily saved me hundreds of hours of my freetime on movies i dont know if i want to watch or not
Even with all of our current technological know-how, a seven day weather forecast is only accurate around 80% of the time--and it gets worse the further ahead you try to predict. At ten days, it drops to 50%, and after that it's not really worth the time. Our ability to predict weather will always be limited by the randomness of the forces that influence it.
Yet we completely understand all the forces that have raised our temperature a degree in the past 50 years, and KNOW it’s because of man made global warming.
@@HomeDefender30 It's a narrative, many scientists believe the climate change is not because of human pollution ( there are varios papers on the web which shows that all the human pollution to the atmosphere is a small percentage that accounts for the increase in temp ) but hey...you can have varios new domain's which means new opportunities to make money if you continue to sell that narrative
@@christianrazvan exactly….. I have been saying for a the past decade, I’ll start buying the global warming narrative as soon as politicians and scientists stop making money off it.
This is the second time I watched a movie after watching the recap, and I most say I was NOT disappointed after watching the movie. Such a fantastic job describing the movie to make me watch it. No more searching for me, anytime I want to watch a movie, I simply come here a randomly pick one. Thanks ❤️
That almost looked like close to a factor two fall with a static rope not made for falls. She’s dead or at least has insanely severely gory near-fatal injuries. She’s need a health potion, extra life, or maybe that neat Predator healing stab thing in order to survive that.
Just imagine your unconscious dangling from a rope on a balloon. I couldn't fathom waking up and just seeing nothing under me, I would think I'm falling at first.
How the hell were they not experiencing hypoxia past 10,000 feet, better still how did they even make it to 37,000 feet and live to tell that tale without oxygen?
People can survive normally from sea level to 12k feet. Time of useful consciousness for a normal ascent to 25k feet is about 3 to 5 minutes, and 20 minutes for just survival, but of course that can vary depending on other factors. Would be incredibly difficult to have survived at 37k feet though.
@@Alex-ug9wx Usually the inflections and the pacing the sentences give it away. These kinds of bots have gotten much better at mimicking actual speech in recent years, but, if it sounds a bit too perfect (if there is a uniform spacing between the words in terms of milliseconds, or if accent inflections are completely perfect, etc.) chances are someone is using a program like that for the speech. Only the best voice actors can mimic the same thing, but most enjoy subtle differences in tone and personal pronunciation as a sort of personal signature for their work. That isn't to say I didn't enjoy the video, though. And it still takes a fair bit of editing work to make a bot voice like this convincing.
@@BobJones-vj3tc I was being sarcastic, and was merely making fun of the people who couldn’t tell a very obvious voice was not that of a real person. Some people clearly fell for it.
I love this movie and definitely worth watching with family. And it keeps me on the edge of my seat ...definitely a masterpiece to watch with Friends and family
Can someone please explain why they are removing weight from the balloon to make it descend? That's very counterintuitive. I thought balloons worked on hot air. The cold atmospheric air would have decreased the pressure in the balloon and caused it to descend.
It was a gas balloon using hydrogen or coal gas, not hot air. To make it descend they let gas out through the valve at the top, but if it descends too fast they throw ballast (sandbags) off.
The dudes “calculations” didn’t include a storm. When there’s literally a storm on the horizon.. being it’s his life goal to predict the weather, he’s really shitty at it lol
Just decrease the fire on the balloon. This is not Zeppelins, its run by hot air and only need to decrease amount of heated gad through and you can go down.
