One of the most important features in this area is the beaches, looking forward to seeing you tackle those! One detail from my own experience of visiting Cape Cod is that lots of houses are on dirt roads off the main road

As a former Mass resident, It’s cool seeing a European do such an outstanding job recreating areas i grew up around ☺️ One thing I’d like to see is the use of ground textures to make large cobble/brick pedestrian streets, as there are quite a few brick streets in the older towns from the 17th-18th centuries, as Massachusetts was one of the first heavily colonized areas in the Americas.

You could look to the cities of Essex County on Cape Ann for reference- Newburyport is a city that really encapsulates the feel I’m trying to describe. (I may be a little biased because i lived in Essex County 😅)

I had absolutely no idea that ploppable RICO was released as a mod, I need to go download it ASAP! What an absolute game changer. Amazing work as always - the waterfront looks completely realistic! Too bad we don't have small boats as props yet. Looking forward to the day when marinas can be filled with watercraft.

I know you said you wanted to do less detailing because of some comments. I normally don't comment on videos, but I need to tell you that I for one am super happy the detailing is back. Big infrastructure is impressive and I love your thought processes, but the detailing is what gives it life. The marina looks sooooooo good, the breakwater, the facilities, the ramp, ... AMAZING!

Those breakwaters - amazing! Those highrise luxury condo's, on dear no. We Americans are terrified of tall buildings in our small towns. You'd almost never see anything more than 3-4 stories tall in town(s) the size of these.

Love the Marina. I think This area need even more focus on ships and the sea. Since the region is so focused on the sea, archipelago and shipping/fishing it needs a small shipyard and a drydock. Hopefull that it is possible with the use of quaywalls, developermode with surfacepainter and place down a ship in the drydock. Great content as always!!

I absolutely loved the attention to detail! I don't think there's anything that would resemble a coastguard, right? Maybe you could have a fire station near the marina, for boating related incidents? They keep a lot of fuel and paint there, plus (at least in my country) they also do diving rescue, so it wouldn't be a stretch.

Just so you know the "boat ramp" is called a slipway in Europe! Although I think boat ramp might be accurate for the US, they do tend to use different names for things

Name for the marina should be “Thunderbay” named after its use in WW2 for harboring small ships used to transport supplies over seas to Europe. Since then it’s been re-purposed for more leisure activities. If possible I think adding an army base that is a main purpose of the city would be very realistic, and cool. especially in mass area; this base could have been a major naval home base used during ww1 / ww2

I'm loving the new city however, Massachusetts famous for its shopping districts. I would 100 percent recommend a shopping mall district with mid rise condos and mixed use around it. I also believe that you need a sort of war memorial park and those are spread throughout Massachusetts. You need another span for goods and services connecting to the highway, passenger vehicles would have their own bridge system beside the current. Making it 6 to 8 lanes will completely shift your city.

MISSIAWEE CITY in MISSIAWEE ISLAND 🗻 I think it will be interesting to do like an alternative version of the Massachusset name, as it come from the native language Wampanoag: The name comes from missi-(muhs-), that means 'big,' 'sacred,' or 'great,' achuwees ([w]achuwees) /[w]atʃəw[iː]s/, 'hill' (literally 'small mountain') and the locative suffix -ett (-ut). The syncopation of the diminutive (-ees) to -s was common in dialects and rapid or relaxed speech, thus the colonial form wachus as opposed to careful Massachusett (wachuwees). The first colonial inhabitants traded and cooperated with the natives before they stablished here so it make sense that they learned the name of this island with the big mountain from them that lived here before. So, I propose : MISSIAWEE ISLAND, and the city: MISSIAWEE CITY.

I like Plymouth! Or something to do with Plymouth, it’s namesake is a port town in the UK and I think it would certainly suit the European accents dotted around this new city!

I think the area should be named something with Cove in the name. Could have something to do with the economic activity (Oyster Cove?) or the name of a character from the city (maybe pick a random citizen and use their name?).

One of the islands, or one of the larger areas within the map should be turned into a state park / reservation, with custom paths, custom buildings placed, and maybe even a nice large beach with custom items taken from developer mode. (Massachusetts has many state parks, beaches, and reservations along the coast).

I think harborstone bay sounds like pretty nice name for the town Backstory: The town of harborstone was build in around the 30s and used to be a small village that specializes in fishing. The town was named after the rocky shore of the island, near the marina. Fast forward to the 90s the town expanded and built a small harbor to export the fish and seafood, and thats how they got the name

18:30 I think this policy isn't that stupid because maybe they want to keep the original look of their historical harbor (or the vibes, in a way xD). I could imagine, at least for the historical parts of the city, having some type of higher taxation on concreted areas similar to the limitations in heights.

Love the heavy detailing types of videos! And for your “unrealistic” dreaming out loud for putting trees in industrial zones- in my city there’s a law that when something is built trees have to be planted on their plot of land! So restaurants, stores (even Walmart!), and even industrial zones, have trees 🌲 so laws like you described def exist! Edit: I live in the Midwest/Great Plains part of the U.S., although I think regardless of region this law could 100% be a thing in Massachusetts

how do you add quay to paths? For some reason, with the Extended Road Upgrades mod I can add quay and all other functions only to roads, but not to paths, railway tracks, etc.

Incredible work on this build. I have a suggestion for this island. Stonewall Haven, a close-knit New England community of Sailors and Fishermen with a rich maritime history. Founded in the early 19th century, locals constructed a robust stone breakwater to protect the harbor from storms, giving rise to the town's name. Over time, Stonewall Haven became known for its festivals boasting a vibrant marina with quaint waterfront shops, seafood eateries, and artisanal workshops. omg are mods in CS2 now?! I completely stopped playing after like 12 hours because I just couldn't handle it. I was playing a 50ish mod CS1 sandbox style and going back to vanilla play style just crushed my interest. I might have to get back into it soon.
