In this video, we’re touring a beautiful DIY tiny home that was built inside of one 40-foot-long high cube shipping container. Now when we say that this is a DIY build, we mean that every single thing in this home was made by hand. Not just the walls and floors and things like that, but also all of the cabinets and the countertops, all of the furniture in the living room, and all of the furniture in the bedroom.
The builder, Micah Woods, is a former woodshop and metal shop teacher who put all his skills and a lot of thought into creating a functional small space for full-time living. He came up with some really clever ideas to maximize everything from comfort, functionality, and storage to airflow, lighting, and more.

One design change I would apply is rounded corners on all furniture etc. In a tight space and thinking of children too, that might save some bruises and/or injuries. ✅🙏🦘

I’d love to see Micah and his team get contracts to make container home communities for elders, or people with lower incomes. These could be very affordable, but secure. It looks stronger than lots of these fast build, cheaply made homes these days. Great job Micah!!

These actually cost MORE than an exact same frame built home. it has everything a full size home so your only saving is in the fact that he built it himself. I am unsure why people think these hand made options are cheap. this is easily $140k to market plus permits are 100% needed

, 6:26 6:29 Do you mean permits to place them? Because at that width and height, no permits are needed to haul the shipping container houses. Also, e-commerce is set up to haul containers and ship them too (they would need to be in the top layer on a ship though…due to the cut-outs compromising the strength).@@user-kx2cz1fh7y,

The design is spot on for the space! I like how the toilet sits behind the mirror doors and the mirror doors make the hallway seem bigger! I don’t think I would change anything. This just needs to be put on a nice piece of property with a nice deck off of it with grill and fire pit!

Absolute perfection. I am hard pressed to think of this as a #tinyhome when you have full sized appliances and a proper kitchen. The shower portion of the washroom is an excellent size and while changing the sheets on the bed won't be easy... it isn't impossible either. Truly a smart design for 21st century living on a budget.

60 and 70,000 for that is not bad at All! Housing is So Expensive, and on top of everything, your house is 100% Category 5 Hurricane Proof. You just need to tie it down properly once it’s moved to whoever buys it! It is a tiny home, but because it’s just one container, it is INCREDIBLY Strong in Any Major Hurricane!

It's EXTREMELY difficult to get planning permission to live in something like this here in the UK (unless you go off the radar and offgrid). The authorities don't want people living in an alternative cheaper way like this as they want you dependent on the matrix: i.e they want you on the hamster wheel of the work/consume lifestyle. Ordinary houses with a mortgage keep the masses in their place - and slaves to the system. I predict that living like this will be made increasingly difficult in the years to come. It's sad, but an indictment on how corrupt our system has become. Maybe research the WEFs ‘great reset’? It's all in plain sight.

This is by far the best container home I've ever seen and I watch a lot of these videos. I'd get a double bed instead of a queen because entering the bed from the sides is important to me for some reason and I'm within BMI and plan to stay that way. There were no compromises on functionality at all! This home does everything every other home can. The design elements are on point. Like 5 stars dude, would buy again, would recommend.

My younger sister built her SC home with two containers. The humidity, kitchen and plumbing vents are key and no welding 😮 wow!

This is one of the best container homes I've ever seen built! If you are going to build more, I'd like to see one with an extension for a second larger bedroom and bath! You are on your way, young man! What city and state are you in? I live in Clarksville, TN, and I would love to see a community of your homes here. I would buy one myself!

Absolutely gorgeous. I really love the blue and marble. It's beautiful. I agree with Shirley. It would be nice if you could get a government contract to build these homes for those who are low income and homeless. This is a wonderful idea. You could build some units with lofts, for people who have children. I think people would definitely appreciate having a home like this. Love this!!!

I love how thoughtful & practical this living space is, not to mention aesthetically pleasing without having to sacrifice the size or inclusion of important everyday appliances due to the considerate layout & clever design. The only suggestion I’d make that could possibly be taken into consideration for future builds is perhaps a gas lift bed. They are effortless and easy to access and have the capability of holding (hiding lol!) an impressive amount of storage! Can’t wait to see your next project❤

@@terryg801 Both gas lift and hydraulic lift beds provide under-mattress storage, using different mechanisms. Gas lift storage beds employ gas struts for a lighter, smoother lift, making them user-friendly and often more cost-effective. In contrast, hydraulic lift storage beds use hydraulic pistons, which can be heavier to operate, and typically carry a higher price tag. Technically, the main difference is that the pressurized system in the gas-based mechanism is powered by *compressed gas* whereas the *hydraulic* one is powered by *compressed liquid.* Hope this helps!🤞
