High-Flow Nasal Oxygen (HFNO) administration is a relatively new technique that is used in the intensive care unit (ICU), and increasingly in the operating room (OR). HFNO has become popular in the ICU for the management of patients with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure when attempting to avoid intubation or to help after extubation.
