Great video, as always. I find it hard to believe that anyone would get into breeding ball pythons without looking at financing their hobby/business, understanding genetics, and seeing that focusing on particular projects is better than a shotgun approach. Even as a hobby, you need a plan, and as you said, they need a mentor. Thanks for the vlog.
I agree with you for ppl that knew they wanted to breed right from the start. But a lot of ppl,including myself, just bought a snake as a pet and then jumped into breeding. But yes if you knew you were going to breed you should have a plan in place.

great video.....I've been breeding for about 10 years now and mainly dealing with the mid low ends genes...Now I'm comfortable on settling down on two projects instead of being overwhelmed with low end genes 😂😂 I consider myself a paycheck snake breeder 🤣🤣
What an interesting video. I really enjoy the content you put out! I always seem to learn something new and usually have something new to consider as I continue my journey through this amazing hobby with each vid you drop. I'm just over 1 year in now and still in the collecting/raising up my animals phase. Luckily for me I've been fortunate enough to meet some very cool people in the industry that have been kind enough to help me with some of the questions I'm unable to find on the internet. I guess I'd put myself in the upper end of entry level to fledgling category as I still have SO MUCH to learn. Aside from the love of the animals themselves, the amount of things there is to learn and experience along with the endless morph combinations that haven't been done yet is what excites and motivates me the most about this hobby. There is still so much to be done even at this late stage of the game! Great video as always man!

Very interesting hearing about all these levels. The breeding aspect of snake keeping is interesting, I can’t imagine managing, say, 400 breeding pairs and staying on top of all that info. I’ll just stick with my lovely pet noodles!

Hoping most people aren't breeding without researching genetics lol. I have 8 BP. With 4 recessive traits and 6 co doms in the mix. Pretty sure new ppl are bringing the bangers now days lol
Completely agree, new breeders are more informed than they ever have been, but often people have an interest in breeding before they really start doing research and it isn’t uncommon for those new breeders who are still doing their research to send us DM asking us about pairings and them not knowing that a certain gene is recessive or how an allelic combination works
Definitely missing the tier of old timers that have like a decade in the industry but won't adapt to changes or real projects other than randomly paring
