A former high school dropout, Jae Hyeon Lee is a senior Physics major at Temple University. At Temple, he participated in various research projects under Diamond Research Scholars program, Undergraduate Research Program (URP), and Creative Arts, Research, and Scholarship (CARAS) program in the fields of low-temperature experimental condensed matter physics, computational physical chemistry, and theoretical nuclear physics. In addition, he revived Temple's Physics Club and served as its President for two years. Jae will graduate in May 2013, having completed his B.S. degree in 3 years and will be attending either Stanford or Harvard for a Ph.D. in Physics.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Thank you for the good talk. It's really inspiring. I will be going to university this fall for Physics too. Like you, I also believe in educational science and I also strive to make science more accessible to the public. Cheers! :)

as someone who doesn't have the best, most outstanding GPA and SAT scores, I also have had doubts about whether or not I can realistically pursue a career in physics and astronomy. hearing this from somebody who has also gone through similar struggles really helps. thank you.

Physics college drop out here, i did well in the 1st year got a 8.7 cgpa(out of 10) and the 2nd year i just hated my classes cos of the environment. So i flunked and secretly repeated the 2nd year while my parents thought it was my last year. The classes were so horrid,no passion just a competition on who does best in school.I recently went home for summer vacation and my parents are expecting a 3rd year result but i have no courage to tell them that their son is a drop out.

Hero✩Lydragius Hey, if you are unable to send it, Ask me my mail ID. Sorry but I don't use Reddit or Quora that often. And if you have time to watch a movie, you may enjoy Dead Poets Society (1989)
