The memories... School was so much more fun back then. We didn't have guns in schools. When dudes got into fights they used their fists. After the fight they usually become friends.
Actually many schools had shooting clubs. I can remember during deer or duck season, the appropriate hunting instrument in the racks in the parking lot.
I used to have my guns in the truck parked in school parking lot in my high school years. We would go hunting right from class after school. Can’t do that anymore

It was literally the same as today - except without school shootings every other week, heroin wasn't even a known word yet, and the worst thing you could do was steal your dad's Pabst and your mom's Virginia Slims at 16; pretending to be an adult. For which you were grounded for a year, forcing you to get your license at 17 instead of 16! Actions had consequences then.
Im an 80s baby. This exact year to be specific. It's crazy to think these students are now in their late 40s and early 50s and their children have most likely already graduated from high school.
And then there’s present say schools full of children who believe they are in gangs, children who bark at people and run on all fours in the hallways, and dont get me started on the amount of emo kids-

The hair, the clothes, the music… the vibe… ALLLL 80’s baby 🥰👍🏼 Loved loved loved my teen years living in California in the 80’s … I was literally 10 in 1980 and 20 in 1990… I am the epitome of an 80’s teen 🎉 And it was RAD !! 501’s, faded jean jackets, feathered hair and capri’s … 80’s movies and drive-in theaters … ❤ First everything’s 🤫☺️… Times I will NEVER forget and reminisce abt even today. There was just nothing like it. Wish I could go back all the time …

GenXer and yep! that’s exactly how we looked in HS except I had a little afro 😁👍🏾👍🏾 but this brings back great memories especially the music of our era Synth Pop New Wave, Hip Hop, Disco, Punk, House, Techno, Rock, Top 40 we got it all !

It kind of upsets me that I missed it by a few years. I didn't hit highschool till 92-93. But I still loved the 80s. They were kinda like my Wonder Years. A great time to have been growin up. These days I look around and almost want to puke at what I'm seeing. I feel bad for these kids. Thier heads are all fucked up. I got a 22yr old daughter. And I thank god every day that she turned out more like us instead of some of these other nutballs I see around today not even knowing what friggin gender they are...lol!
Back when a ‘friend’ meant someone you’ve known a long a time and had good memories with as opposed to a person you’ve linked with through instagram or tagged on facebook.
For those that lived thru HS in 85 you know. You know how good we really had it because only we know. Hopefully you had a decent family because that is all you really needed, the rest was outside waiting! There was so much to do once you got your wheels! Yep we were all skinny and in shape!
It was.... People weren't as much in everyone else's business the way they are today. We were a lot more social as well. At least when it came to being outside. We always hungout in different places and roamed around in little packs...lol! But yeah, it was much more care free and things were more easy going and relaxed back then. Or at least that's how I feel about it. Kids are always gonna have their problems, but we didn't take things as serious back then. Maybe it was the idea that nukes could drop on us at any time. Maybe it made us live life a little bit more like it could be our last day on Earth.... Who knows? But I do miss it, and I feel bad that you kids aren't able to enjoy similar times. I think the Internet has kind of taken a lot of the mystery to life away from these last two generations. Especially when it comes to growing up.

Nobody had a phone back then. I know because I was alive. How in the hell did you manage to first make it about you and then about me? Do you miss being able to delineate rational thoughts appropriately or have you never had that capability?
My school is still like this! Phones aren't allowed at my school and everyone lives with socialization, happiness and guys would fight with their fists then end up being friends 😂😂

my parents were 16 and 17. they must’ve lived exactly like this. wild to think about it. they are horrified by how people used to dress back then but i kinda like it
