Chad JOHNSON So is pretty much anything you name. And no, homosexuality is not a sin. The original translation was talking about males who would basically be speaking for the gods and others, typically males would go and have sex with them so that their fields would be more fertile. That specifically was identified as a sin because it was considered worship of other gods. Don't pull that Leviticus shit on me, because theology majors still argue what it means to this day. Sodum and Gamora was a sin because it was about a town trying to rape two travelers. I really don't like hating on religion, but with everyone taking their own interpretation of it, it gets ridculous. And the problem is that it's indoctrination. You don't allow children to form opinions on religion before you've gone and ingrained it in their brains. Not to mention we still have people telling their children homosexuality is a sin. And so what if it is and god actually is real? Well everyone commits sin, that's what repenting/confessing/etc. is for. Not to mention it clearly says hate the sin love the sinner as well as treat everyone as you'd treat your neighbor.
Gay marriage goes against God's word in the Holy Bible, The bible does say that Marriage was instituted by God in the Garden of Eden at the time of man’s creation as a union between man and woman that's in the book of Genesis 2:18-24

Do I agree with his stance? No. However, I think the lesson to be learned from his statement is that homophobia isn't something you are born with. It's something learned through upbringing and indoctrination. Speaking from experience as a gay man raised in an extremely Catholic family.

Most LGTB people I know (including me) are very concerned and passionate about LGTB rights, and feel very proud about their identity and go to Pride and that kind of things. It sucks that it's such a big part of our lives, because, as you say, nobody should care about the gender of anybody's partner(s), but it has to be or they'll take away our rights again (as Trump is slowly doing)

The term 'homophobe' is a political pejorative the term was never a clinically valid term with a clear, generally agreed upon definition within psychology aside from 'the fear of monotony'. The bible condones rape, slavery and sexism. It also says cutting your hair, eating shrimp and wearing clothes of different fabrics are a sin.... Notice how it says terrible and hateful things are ok, but completely harmless things are sins? Same goes for homosexuality
this is the old testament. Christianity is not about living in the way the old testament describes. If you took time to actually get to know christianity and not just look at things in the bible that you don't agree with you might learn something

The old Bible debate. First, let me say that I myself am a Christian, and I am a huge supporter of LGBTQ+ rights. A.) The Bible speaks about being gay in the Old Testament, in a section that also forbids cutting your hair, and mixing clothing. Something that everyone does. Jesus comes and changes these laws. The only time being gay is brought up in the New Testament it really isn’t talking about being gay at all. It talks about how pedophilia is wrong. It says something along the lines of “A man should not lay with a boy”. The main message there was “Pedophilia is wrong!” B.) God views all sin as equal. There is no level of sin. We are all equally sinful. So by saying “being gay is sinful”, you are sinning yourself by judging. A lie is the same as a murder in Gods eyes. It’s all sin. So a homosexual is no more, or less sinful than the heterosexual standing next to them. C.) God calls on Christians to love, and accept people. Never once does he say “deprive people of their right to love”. As long as you are loving and accepting people, God approves. D.) if you still believe gay marriage is wrong, fine. It’s your right to believe that. However, it is not your right to strip someone else of theirs. Two men who love each other getting married does not affect you at all. In any way, shape, or form. And saying that it should be illegal because the Bible “says it’s wrong”, is saying that you don’t support the first amendment. Freedom of religion pops up in there. Not everyone is a Christian. So stop the hating, and just let people be happy.

You know what's funny, when you come to realization that life isn't some kind of magical fairy tale and there isn't a evil and good side. I would like to pass a message to the guy with the camouflage clothes: Dear young man, it’s ok that you are against marriage equality, even if it would mean that I couldn’t marry who I love. It’s ok that you are antigay, even if it would mean that I wouldn’t have the same rights like you do. It’s ok whatever your opinions are, even if it would mean that I would suffer because of you having those opinions. I think that if you don't support fundamental right just because of what a book says, is probably the most laziest, backward, and slave minded answer. That's at least my opinion. Believe in God, that's great, find your purpose your own way, it's your right to do so but don't make it everyone else's problem. Although I think the majority of young people have become more liberal/progressive, I can remember when I was around 20 in 2007 and I didn't believe in gay marriage. I viewed marriage as the starting point of a family, the step before having kids etc. I wasn't fighting against gay marriage but I didn't agree with it really. I didn't see the point. Now I'm for it.. doesn't change my life at all
Regardless of your personal beliefs, we must admit that the argument that if two people love each other, then they should get married is not a valid argument. If one were to follow this ideology, then what prevents me from marrying my mother, or my father, or my sister? How many of you would see this as weird and wrong? Beyond that, if I love my cats, why can't I marry them? If I'm in love with my television set, why can't I be united in marriage with it? Let us realize that when one man and one women get married, it is productive. They can create children and raise them up in a household with a male and female role model. Of course, two homosexuals can adopt, but why couldn't my cat and I adopt kids if we tied the knot? Really not trying to offend anyone, but logically this has to make sense.
The desire to deny homosexuals the right to marry is based in hatred and fear. Same sex marriage harms no one, and has no affect on "traditional" marriage. Banning something that is no threat to people has nothing to do with "preserving" anything or "protecting" anyone. It's about punishing homosexuals out of sheer hatred. That's it.
