As the beautiful diesel territory of NWR ie. Delhi-Ajmer route was getting wrapped with the electric wires as a part of the mass Electrification going across the Indian Railways network. Me and Aditya Kaushal decided to get a final glimpse of the raging Diesel beasts making their presence felt in their territory before electric locomotives eventually takes over once the section is fully charged up.
It was mind boggling seeing the poles and OHE wire ready in full swing in just under a years time as the last time I was here in 2018 ,only the earthing was done and the section was completely free from poles. Fast forward to 2020, we have the section fully electrified with only the work of sub stations and charging to be carried out. So it was concluded by me and Aditya Kaushal that the days for diesel domination was coming to an end soon.
So in our short our short trip to Jaipur me and Aditya Kaushal hustled across 4 different stations in a day just to the enjoy the diesel action to the fullest. We first landed at Asalpur Jobner (the hot spot for any railfan) in early morning hours just to relish the first half of the morning diesel action after which we headed to Bobas station to capture our main course of diesel action that started from mid day all the way till the evening hours and we finally concluded our railfanning session at Bindayaka where we captured the returning Ajmer Shatabdi Express, Ranthambore Express and Dayodaya Express. But as we were planning to head back to Jaipur station , we decided to give a short visit to Kanakpura just to catch the Aravali Express and Kavi Guru Express. At Kanakpura, we were surprised to meet Railfan Irfan Pathan from Bikaner along with his cousin brother. It was a short meet up of NR and NWR railfans as we cherished the sizzling speed show of Kamakhya-Udaipur City Kavi Guru Express which turned out to be the last capture of the day for us.
