Wireless is the most cost effective method to deploy fixed broadband access. In rural and remote areas, the economics of DSL, cable and fiber do not make sense from a cost per subscriber return on investment perspective. The use of wireless as a last mile technology of choice used to mean sacrificing reliability or speed. Mimosa’s products are designed to provide wireless broadband that meets, and in many cases exceeds, the capability and reliability of legacy fixed access networks.
Mimosa passionately believes that broadband access and economic development go hand-in-hand. We leverage the latest developments in wireless to allow you to deploy next-generation services in your area to the benefit of the community. In this video, Mimosa Co-founder Jaime Fink provides an overview of the opportunity in providing rural connectivity solutions and how Mimosa can help.

I think RU-vid should introduce a feature for the comment section where you have different comment categories based on the level of discussion. For example, General, Professional, Educational etc. I'm here to learn and comments complaining about the length of the video are annoying.

How do I know how much front to back spacing we need between the sectors? Do we use the same SSID for all sectors? What wireless channels would we use say for 2.4 GHz? If a customer is on the edge of signal between 2 sectors and they keep switching between sectors, how do we keep them from losing their connection (disconnects to Netflix or FTP)? In your example at 16:13 minutes, you have 6 sectors, how do you choose what channel to use for each sector? What happens if someone else you don’t know or can’t control uses the same channel that one of your sectors is on and it’s causing interference & they have auto channel selection and they keep swapping channels?

I wish y’all could release features such as management radio for free without a special POE requirement so that those of us on the installer end can have an easier life without needing to convince our bosses to spend even more $$$

Wired, it keeps the same throughput. Wireless, it splits it in half.

I want to start an wisp in rural areas. Is possible to do this using DSL from my base station? everywhere I look it seems like I have to get fibre for base and I can redistribute via wireless medium. Thanks in advance

It will work, but since DSL is limited to about 150 Mbps, your client/subscriber feeds will be fairly low (depending on how many your have).

Hello friends of Mimosa, I write from Falcon state, Venezuela. I have closely followed their products, webinars and news on the evolution of their products to help the WISP. I am interested in your products and I want to know how I could acquire them from Venezuela or failing another country close to the region, such as Colombia or Chile. I appreciate your prompt help. Thank you

Do you have a solution for rural Africa where there are no towers at all ?
@mrmotofy

Build towers, top of power poles, water towers or use churches or other tall structures or trees.

Here in NC, access ranges from Dismal to impossible. AT&T offers impossible with 3 meg DSL with 300k up. Across interstate 95, Century Link? 8 meg down, 500k and sometimes 800k up. Century link is NOT interested in updating their service. AT&T same. "Well, you might bet 5 megabit off your cell phones." --- here, there are 0 bars to 1 bar for AT&T. Ugh.
@dogman_
@dogman_ 2 года назад
Same here in Person County. We haven't moved there yet. So leaving At&t Fiber for Centry Link sucks.
@Billblom
@Billblom 2 года назад
@@dogman_ Verizon has a 5g home internet offering coming "soon" -- unlimited data, and depending on how far away your tower is... 50 to 600 megabit down. Wireless provided to house and all that rot. The problem... 5 comes in multiple flavors.. mostly with 4 levels of performance. That, at least, is better than DSL.

Mimosa Networks Thank you! I'm currently looking into new high speed ISP services nearby, but all want to charge me an insane amount for fiber internet in my semi rural area (900+ yrds away from the last main hooup). So hopefully this will solve it :)

Mortiss Coffin try business class internet to start if the provider allows reselling. It’s good if you don’t have a massive budget to start plus good just to prevent massive losses if you startup doesn’t gain popularity.

I live in a rural area of Arizona with service from a local wireless ISP. I'm 11 miles from the main service antenna and 3 miles from a closer one. I get a better line of site to the further one so they have me pointed that direction. Though the speed isn't horrible it's in and out. I believe they are running too many clients per access point. Only 3 antennas in this valley that I know of and there has to be at least a few hundred of us using those 3 points. I had a neighbor who had something that boosted the frequency from 5 to ? He had uninterrupted service. I asked about it and he told it was frowned upon. I asked my service provider about it and I got a run around. I could tell by the conversation that it was an option but either not ethical or illegal by the FCC. Can I boost my signal legally myself and if so with what?

i also live in arizona north of anthem arizona and out here in new river we just got some wireless internet service available out here up to 50 mbps down and 20 up and it has made such a huge difference compared to century links shitty 10 down 2 up that I had before. Though i wish century link or cox would lay some fiber lines out here so i could get a 80 down or 100 down service package.

Your question makes no sense and lacks information. It's like asking someone to give you the price of a car. One needs to get way more specific. You may want to research and figure out what you need first. Then contact them through their website.
