its not happening because 1. Hellmuth's too chicken to play a cash heads-up his brain hurts when he tries to evaluate thing bigger than 10BB preflop (relies too much on compulsory action instead of creating one) 2. Hellmuth could barely keep it cool with Esfandiari in front of him who is like 30% annoying in comparison for Tony G 3. Nobody wants to see drunk tony G winning on pure luck celebrating loud while Hellmuth waltz off Wait we want no. 3 , WE ALL WANT IT😂😂

no Doug is mature too. Daniel is making him out that way but he didn't really do anything. He criticized Pokerstars for increasing rake saying it will help recreational players. 3:27:40 Biggest hand of the night. In the old days, wasn't it a routine fold for a paired flop of 6s Kc 6h? Daniel had 10c6c, Doug had QdJd. Daniel bet $1600, Doug called and only had a runner runner straight draw.

nice very entertaining. Dnegs ran pretty insanely hot but also played well (eg the K9 bluff was pretty epic - playing his image really well here). Still think Doug will destroy him online though once they start playing some real volume.
@jose3990
@jose3990 3 года назад
its preetty standard tho, he cant call pre, folding seems bad againts a guy that 3 bets light, obviously your left with 4beting. k9o is preetty good candidate. the flop is tricky because doug can have 1010 and JJ when he flats pre but you have K high and you have a gutter so you have a clear cbet, turn im not going to ttalk much because you could check(and realize equity with the oportunity to bluff some rivers when checked to you ) or bet and go for 3 barrels in some rivers. river is a blank and when you dont block any diamond i guess its mandatory to bluff all in , you get some auto folds from some type of draws like KQ ou Qx diAMONDS and you put AJ and AT in a really dificult spot. its standard bro not epic at all xD

Just watched the entire match. First, I could definitely watch well over 8 hours of this heads up match. This match was beautiful, in every aspect. The banter, sportsmanship, mutual respect and lines of play broadcasted to everyone watching was pure entertainment. The checks by DNegs and over bet by Doug were lines not often took. Displayed to me, to difference in live vs online play. I could watch these two shuffle chips and combat amicably all day long if they were doing it live, online.. not so much. I do look forward to seeing the results after the 12,500th hand mark. I want DNegs to win but I think Doug will prevail in his chosen arena.

Doug Polk is a literal genius: 1. Egg Dnegs on. 2. Get him to play you in a game that you were considered the best in the world at for many years. 3. Ensure the format gives you a huge advantage. (2-tables, all online, small timebank) 4. Bet truck loads of money on yourself via third parties. 5. Promote the event by continued trash talk. 6. Win 1.2 million dollars of DNegs money while streaming and promoting your website the entire time. 7. Make tons of content about the challenge, and sell a ridiculous amount of course content. 8. Become podcast besties with Dnegs after the challenge making us all wonder if the beef was just a cashgrab from the beginning. You have to give the man credit. Whether you like him or not. I'd airball a guess that he made 5-10 million+ profit on this challenge through all the avenues.

Yeah the 2 AJ vs AQ hands and the magical trips 6 hand when Polk was running a bluff that should have worked a majority of the time I believe he even gets weak K6 -KJ to fold. Daniel was playing way to passive, not betting for value and overfolding to Polks bluffs. He will most certainly get destroyed if he continues to play so tight/passive and not capitalize and bet for value in spots where he should.

All Daniel needed to do was win this live match and he's "proven" enough to most people. This live match would get the most views by far. Obviously he ran very hot and 200 hands is nothing. But I feel he played better than Doug in this small sample
@liamhalliday8437
@liamhalliday8437 3 года назад
Easy to play well when you're running well, but he was solid, and got the notable K9 bluff through. I was more disappointed in Doug than impressed with Daniel, felt after hand 170 Doug spewed and seemed frustrated. I feel similar that Daniel, taking this match in his opponents specialisms (HU and cash) and holding his own, does prove a lot. I do think playing live reduces Doug's edge significantly, but we're only playing a fraction of hands live so we'll see what happens in the long run and online. You still have to favour Doug at this point, but I will be reassessing if Daniel is still up 6 figures after 2500 hands.

The meta conversation going on between these two was fascinating. The commentators seemed to think it was pure friendliness, but it wasn't there were some subtle digs going on there. Take for instance the end, when Daniel casually asked how many hands were left. You think a mathematical, calculating brain like his didn't know exactly how many hands left? He asked it because he wanted Polk to think he was going to tighten up. Doug even "joked", 'yeah you can fold the last ones out, I'll take it'. Daniel then feigned embarrasment and said something like he'd never do that. Doug then thought, cool, let's play. But Negreanu laid his trap, the very next hand he played completely outside his range and went for a bluff. Polk bought it so he did it again with K3. But this time he checked down on the river and made the "old man speeding". The guys in the booth even commented how this was the first hand all night he'd done that. Then he got lucky as the very next hand he plays within his range and hits trip 6s. Polk was primed to think that he was just trying to bluff down the last few hands and shoved right into them. Beautiful. Also as a sidenote, notice how Daniel brings up the fact he's an underdog every time he wins a pot. 😂
