📜 Video Description 📜
In this video I have Luke (Clanty) Johnson as a guest on the channel. He will be playing a high stakes online poker session at 1000NL ($5/$10 blinds) and 2000NL ($10/$20 blinds) on PokerStars. Luke is a 26 year old poker player from the UK, playing professionally since 2017. He plays anywhere from 500NL ($2/$5 blinds) up to 5000NL ($25/$50 blinds), both 6-max and Heads-Up, and he is considered to be one of the best players in the games he plays. He is also a poker coach, on top of being a professional poker player, and also streams poker on twitch. As you can see, Luke is a very studied player and has a really solid understanding of game theory optimal poker. He is a player that massively favors the theoretical approach of the game and relies mostly on playing a GTO strategy instead of inventing exploitative strategies or relying on them as much. Pay attention to how he analyzes hands, and how in-depth he goes on each hand, because if you are aiming to play in similar stakes some day that's how you're going to have to approach the game.

Holy shit, I went through my database, and the first real freq mistake I could find was at 33:11 where KQo OBT quite high, you rolled 5 and x…you’re amazing.

if anyone is still around chatting, I'd like to talk about the KTclubs jam at 4:30 mark. You mentioned the concept of having Kclubs being better, however, wouldn't KTdiamonds be preferred?? you would want him to have KQ of clubs to xc xc xf. I did run some EV calcs on this via GTO wizard. I'd be interested to hear more about this spot or have this clarified. Anyway, Great video. Cheers.

- villain can’t have KQcc because the Qc is on the board - having KTdd blocks KQdd which folds river - hence, we want to have KTcc

@@jcw8955 Friendo, you need to look up ranges and frequencies. You are not answering the right question, and you are answering your new question incorrectly. Villains raise size means we have to win slightly more than 25% to break even. Villain's range has 2 notable bluffs that Hero mentioned (T3s and A3s). Based on this Villain has a better hand 69.23% of the time. That means we win 30.77% of the time, which means in the long run it is a profitable call ->but you will lose more often than you win. IF Villain does not 3bet KJ pure, AND will jam river over 3 barrels with KJ, then you will still lose the majority of the time, but in the long run your profitability of this call goes up since you win more often (about 10-15% depending on how you weight Villain calling w/KJ pre). Those last two are big asks though, but this is still a profitable call in the LONG TERM (remember, this has to do with bet size on the river, a larger JAM makes this get exceedingly close to a losing call if you do it at 100% frequency given the parameters set by our Hero in the video)

@@switters8679 'That means we win 30.77% of the time, which means in the long run it is a profitable call' hero needs to win like 34% of the time for it to be profitable. Not slighlty more than 25%, your math is off.
