What most people don’t realise is that Esfandiari compliments Ruffin not because Ruffin made a great call, but because he wants Ruffin to think he did and continue making terrible, loose calls like that.
@@sleong lol people take it too seriously sometimes lots of high stakes regs are friendly they just realize at the table they would bankrupt them if they had the chance.
RU-vid knew two things: 1. I watch tons of Poker videos 2. I love Norm MacDonald Algorithm put the two together the day after Norm passed. This was a joy to watch, as we miss Norm. It knew what to do at a tasteful time. Thank you algorithm!
Can someone explain to me the point of having stacks of cash along with the chips? Seems like it just takes up a lot more table space when the chips represent the same monetary value.
An amazingly talented player, who was able to go toe-to-toe with anyone for some years. Didn't do "enough" with his talents though. Not even close to "best of all time". No bracelet, no WPT title, nor amongst the money leaders(not even close). Not even top-20! Definitely has/had the skills and the aptitude to be amongst the 5 best ever. Just doesn't have the accolades. Greatest poker face though, i'll give him that!
Leggo My Ego definitely agree with you ,my experience in poker. i think its the stubbornness and not willing to back down. Can be easy to make money off these types of players and can be tough depending on the situation.
To be fair the pre-flop raiser bet 77% pot into two other players - that is usually a very strong move. Laak and Antonius are both also fairly tight so a bet and call looks stronger than usual
That hand with lex and Doyle.......he was dumbfounded/ shocked. You see how he turned over/ mucked his cards. Just disgust, amazement, disbelief. What a call by lex.
@@TheVersatileArt That is the hand he won heads up against 1 person. Lex was using an exploitative approach to the game and knew bronson doesn't play lots of small cards which is funny cause he was talking about ranges earlier. That is my interpretation at least
he could have easily had a set. i think lex called on the body language read and what cards came on the turn and river that didn't make sense with how much doyle was betting
Because “outs” is when the hand rank changes. Getting 4 hearts doenst fundamentally change merciers hands rank of ace high. It doenst beat two 9. But of course, if a heart did come on the turn THEN the hearts would be included in his outs for the river since those would give him a flush. Basically, “outs” is any card and only that card that can change who is winning. If you hit your out, you are now winning. Hitting 4 hearts doenst win you anything, you need 5 hearts for a flush so the 4th heart is not an “out”, only the 5th one is.
Honestly it was not that hard call on the river, Doyle represent only straight which is hard to have in this spot. I would say bad bluff. Call was just correct play from Lex spot.
If it wasn't for the flush draw I think Antonius would have laid it down on the turn, but the genius move was calling that river Q. Really wonder what his thought process was - put Laak on Ax? But he could easily have AQo or a pocket pair that beats 4s. To call a bet of 70% of the pot really seemed insane.
I think Laak just bet too much on the river. I honestly think Patrick would've folded on the turn if he didn't pick up the flush draw. The hand that made the most sense for Laak would be AK, and if i'm Laak, I'm not thinking AK is strong enough to make that large a value bet. Aces or Kings are a possibility I guess, but the flop bet was a bit too large, considering that board wasn't really that scary for a hand like that. If I have aces or kings and I see a flop like that, I'd want calls, and if somebody flopped a set they'd be forced to raise on a board like that (234 with two hearts). 16k into 20k pot is a bet you'd make when you want to protect your hand. Heck that bet was big enough to get a fold from 8s. It was a bet that would make sense with a hand like 9s, 10s, Js, or very high aces. And when the K and Q come you can be sure he's not betting 9s 10s or Js for value. Anyway that was just my read on the situation, have a nice day.
@@HelloYouPeople what is wrong with ppl like you, why so rude without any reason at all? You’re the perfect example what’s the result if u were raised with no love
Gabe was saying "Eli might not mind that card because now If Gus has KJ or KQ then it would be a split pot". Of course he doesn't actually have that, but that's just something Eli might be thinking about.
