The most profound lesson from this vid is that low-ticket customers want information while high-ticket customers want transformation. Rich people "buy time", so they don't mind writing a big cheque if the product or service will save them time and effort.
@aronchoi6836
@aronchoi6836 7 лет назад
Agreed! It's a completely different value system for high ticket customers.

I just love how you break all the rules in the market. You promote thinking out the box unlike everyone else that just falls in line with the rest of the mentors and entrepreneurs that just teach redundant info.

Me in HTC proves why the second model is the effective model unlike the traditional funnel. If you had me buy courses in order to mentor me, I would never upgrade and even think avout it. However, with your model, I consumed lots of your playlists for free, and when the HTC opportunity poped up, BAM I just dove straight in.
@shaunchisholm_

Having just signed up for the HTC this makes so much more sense! Dan is the first person I have bought in to like that and it is because there is no middle package. I consumed a lot of his content, got an idea for who he is an how he operates, his mindset etc and then just went...this is the guy..SOLD

Dan says "think about it" in a lot of his teachings. But it's not because he uses it as a fancy transition or the like. He says it because he really wants us to think -- to think about what we're learning, yes, but also to question everything. Otherwise we're just filling our minds with facts that may or may not be true and merely memorizing information. This video is an example of how Dan analyzed the widely accepted marketing funnel model and questioned if there was a better way. After I've thought about it myself, I prefer Dan's approach. Why work harder and spend more when you don't have to?

I have just done the figures for my business. I've been so (stupidly now I see) proud of my "per hour" rate that I've missed the point along the way. Just did the math and have a proper new goal.

I know it's dated as of my comment.... hyowever, this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Dan Lok video. In it he addressed my two biggest headaches. 1. Daily Emails (.Been doing that too long..I detest that crap!) and...... 2. Build Value via FREE Content (I know this works because Dan's videos are luring me in and I'm no easy sell)

Dan, knowing the emotional needs of the client is key for the entrepreneur transactionally- as you already indicated. Thanks Dan.

This is brilliant because it explains the Gary V model on a bit smaller scale so easier to understand but just as and potentially more powerful in terms of results. Very well articulated.

I, too, was thinking of the Gary V model. The way he says it is "building the audience and gathering attention so it's easier for the big guys to find me. I never monetize my audience because they're not who I want as clients." Dan's explanation is MUCH more clear as to the benefits of doing this.

You're absolutely right. Most people make the mistake of charging per hour, and that's why they don't make it to the top. If you want to know more secrets from Dan, i encourage you to check out the FREE version of Dan On Demand. Yes, it's actually free... danondemandtoday.danlok.link

Here is one missed thing - proof. Dan Lok can easily close a high-ticket sale because he can prove how much value he brings by showing his own achievements and the achievements of his clients. So this is how he earns people's trust. Don't forget that he started everything as a copywriter. He earned money, he created himself a style and made "rich" impression to other people and after that he worked with the "low" class clients and AFTER building this business he got the chance to work with the "big" fishes who are ready to pay him 100k $ for a year. Don't miss it. Trust and proof are musts!

Wiser clients now want transformation not just the information & these are the Players With Money. They look at the value of your offer & readily buy because they know they will have positive outcome.

So true , once you are used to free stuff . You just dont want to spend money , so aiming for 4% of High value clients is a great strategy , the rest of the 90% is community building of some sort regards Gaven Malope South Africa

It makes sense to get paid per value/results you bring to the client. I used to create packages/bundles for my services and as I'm listening to you and Alan Weiss it's clear that I have to unbundle what I do and charge per results. Question, when you charge per results, would it be reasonable to get revenue share as well?
@DanLok

It's a possibility. I have done quite well over the years with a rev share model.

Dan I am your big follower, but I think this works for you and for some people, like have reached certain level, and that's why you have that 99% of content that you can give it for free and people have seen your past works , that's why they can be in the top 4% . For a small company and new one do we still don't need that funnels?

My interpretation of the message to the target audience; “ Sell the value you intent to provide to the PWM that are already know what they need” My question therefore is this; “ In order to build such a reputable value (or in my understanding; the Highly Scalable Business) time, money and effort must be invested into creating and nurturing that value. Is this where the basis of having a High Income Skill comes in?” It appears that the audience, the members of the IC, all have some sort of High Income Skill, and are building upon that skill to elevate their Highly Scalable Business. So, another question would be, “Besides “trial and error” and “learning through experiences”, what other ways are there that can allow you to set up a basis for your future Highly Scalable Business to be built out of your High Income Skill?”

@tcnotrvlr
@tcnotrvlr 6 лет назад
Hopefully he answers, but I've been thinking this too. How I've framed it is "what is the emotional need the decision-maker has in getting this solved?" Much different answer when you realize the "company" is actually people with one specific person making the decision.
