Next time try to increase the voltage slower to the point where the sound chip struggles and dies on it's own, that would produce some funny and glitched sounds. I would really appreciate to hear that.

Is it my imagination or is there a general pattern to the failures. It seems like the sound mechanisms will work until around 9V and then go quiet. The mechanicals, assuming they don't explode, continue until around 30V when the motor goes poof.
