The High Weald Steam Working Weekend 2023 was a fantastic showcase of heavy haulage at its best! The powerful steam engines and impressive machinery made for an unforgettable event. Loved every moment!
It is probably the best one that will ever been done just to the fact the Heavy Haulage went around the show where people was walking. I know this would probably a nightmare for health and safety that's why they sectioned it off this year. But definitely an unforgettable event. I am in the process of making a Welland Steam Rally Heavy Haulage video which is another one you will probably enjoy.
С таким удовольствием посмотрел это ретро-шоу,огромное уважение ко всем участникам.Столько старинной техники восстановлено,спасибо этим людям за их труд.
A great first steam rally to go to. This is probably one of the best steam rallys I have been too in years for full size engines. A great miniature steam rally is the miniature steam weekend at Amberley museum. I would highly recommend that to any steam enthusiast.
It would be hard to beat without the health and safety stepping in the the heavy haulage going through the crowd without barriers. This will probably be the best High Weald Steam Working Weekends there will every be due to the fact of that. Just like a good old traditional stems rally.
What an experience having the opportunity to steer a steam roller I sure do dream of it one day. Firing a super sentinel on the London to Brighton commercial vehicle run is the best I have done. Hopefully see you driving about at this year's show.
Hi the truck is a Scammel Explorer from what I have found out its got a 6 cylinder 10.4L petrol engine 6x6 drive and had a total of 175hp. It was developed in 1944 for military use but the first order was placed in 1948 and they was used up until the 1980s.
The guy on the one tractor should have dropped a few gears before /as he was starting to spin his tires. I had that experience many years ago with our Ford 3000 Super Dexta English made. Dropped from 4 gear to 1st and the tires stopped spinning that was 4 trees on the trailer. yes it was a learning experience for a 15 yr old.
Most of trailers and vehicles did not have the equipment for air brakes. The old trailers would have to be manually wound on if they needed to be stopped. They did have a break away chain fitted to all trailers if the worst case scenario happened. Marshalls guided the Heavy Haulage around the Showground and kept the public to the side. It's definitely a great show allowing the public to get up close to the heavy haulage rather than seeing it from behind barriers.
Have seen some videos of steam rallies. Never saw one. Now me saw two idiots, the two with their fordsons. The driver of the white one for having no clue whatsoever and what his tractor is capable of and what not. The driver of the blue one for he does not know how to drive a tractor and for going to this show with a tuned one! Oh, forgot one. There is this beeping driver of a green tractor with yellow wheels. What does this machine do there? I believe the driver doesnt know too...... Last but not least, a word to the organisers and the accompanying "marshals": who on earth lets two such mini tractors drive through the event with such an unbraked load? The chassis alone would be heavy enough to overtax the two tractors in terms of braking - even more so the two drivers! Lord, please, throw brains down!
Exactly I don't think they would bother to lay in front of a steam roller or traction engine. That would get messy. I do wonder if any climate activists have attempted to stop a steam rally from happening or steam vehicle on the road?
