I would say you are correct Martyn, in how pronouncing Heysham. Everyone I know up north pronounces is that way. Its been a long time since I last heard of the Golden Arrow train, and to have one of its coaches. Amazing. Its lovely to see the old trains seemingly coming back to life. Just to clarify Martyn, its off the M5 not the M6🤣. Its a really nice feeling when you get a lift from visiting something like that. It makes your day

Back in the day the Golden Arrow used to run out from London and go to Dover via Faversham and Canterbury East.

The Golden Arrow used to be the boat train and ran from London Victoria to Dover, then on a boat to Calais then onto the French Railway to Paris.

As an Irishman I have never done it (didn’t exist when I lived there) but I believe the Wild Atlantic Way is beautiful. It is Derry to Cork all down the west coast.

We have a pub in a village near us that has 2 dining carriages , the Spot Gate at Hilderston, really nice ,and they like bikers 😉

As you liked that carriage so much, look into riding in one on the main line out of London Victoria on one of the Venice and Simplon Orient Express charter trains, especially if they have a steam engine pulling it. There are various levels of catering depending on what length of journey it is and all served in the proper way. It would be a great present for Claire but you do have to dress up! A tad on the expensive side too but you really do get what you pay for!

When you do your Ireland trip martyn if you head to Galway there's a very similar idea in a hotel called glenlo abbey, with the train carriage, again you should be able to Google it

Loved the vlog Martyn. We had the same weather up here on Wednesday and Thursday absolute nightmare. Is that your GS you're changing? You can't have many miles on it , it's a nice bike, I love the Gold Wing cracking bike especially in the metallic red colour there's a Gold Wing trike running about up here an absolute belter. The joys of the M5 during the school holidays. Been something nearly every day between 19 and 20 the last few weeks. The carriage looks beautiful. Certainly don’t make them like that anymore. Mind back then people had more respect and not wreck things didn’t they.

Great video as always Jenko, What time did you get back to Cardiff the M4 was an absolute nightmare it took me 4hrs 14mins to get back to Cardiff from Lymington which is near Southampton, Luckily they had reopened the old Severn Bridge by time I came past there so that may or may not have saved me from having to stop for another 45min break in Magor as I made up a fair bit of time by going over the old bridge rather than being stuck in all the traffic on the Prince of Wales bridge. If its Republic of Ireland then youre better off when possible getting off the motorways, try the burren, the ring of Kerry and Kerry in general, West Cork is nice too and conemara in Galway but you'll often see the nice stuff off the motorways,in rural areas, maybe you should drive along the wild Atlantic way, you should be able to Google it martyn, have a great time over here regardless of what part you travel to
