At this event, the international team that delivered the Africa Hub for Sustainable Creative Economies (AHSCE) project will reflect on the collaborative activities, shared learning and impact the AHSCE has had.
The project involved a large international academic team across King’s College London (UK), University of Southampton (UK), University of Nairobi (Kenya), University of Lagos (Nigeria) and University of Witwatersrand (South Africa).
Project partners will present key findings from the project and illustrate the ways in which each African partner - supported by key intermediaries and sector partners - engaged with their respective creative sectors: Fashion, Theatre, and Film and Digital Media.
They will discuss how they built connections with creative practitioners, intermediaries, academics, graduates and policymakers through online workshops, and launched a small grant initiative to support 25 creative projects showcasing creative engagement with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Panellists will also discuss the range of impacts that the overall project and creative projects had.
