I want to share my thoughts as to whether or not you should consider higher salary or more equity.
In the tech industry, when you get a job, you will typically receive a salary and equity with the job offer. While it is ideal to receive a super high salary plus a large amount of equity, it usually doesn’t happen like that. Typically, either you’ll get a lower salary or higher equity or higher salary with more equity.
In this video, we’ll talk about the pros and cons of both salary and equity and which could be better for you!
Having worked many years in the recruiting and staffing industry, I have acquired a lot of tips, tricks and insights in the industry that I want to share with you! I have worked as a top performing recruiter at a nation wide recruiting agency to now running my own recruiting business.Whether you have questions on how to better your resume, ace the interview, or learn more about the recruiting world and my entrepreneurial experiences, please feel free to subscribe and come along for the journey!

My growth of 401k is 2.74% in the past year. In this environment does investing under a brokerage with a custodian outperform a 401k? should I seek a pro to grow my funds on brokerage acct or still hold? I have 5 years to retirement. Happy to discuss.

Mine was 8.16%, I used to dca into etfs but I reconsidered the strategy since I am still way behind after the massive downturn since Jan last year

Be careful not to be lured into the market too soon, this current situation has really opened my eyes to the importance of a good mentor on RU-vid or elsewhere knowing what he/she is doing

the size of your retirement portfolio will overwhelmingly be a function of the performance of the stock and bond markets between now and when you start withdrawing from it.

Private investing is the best way to go about the market right now, especially for near retirees, I've been in touch with a wealth manager for awhile now netted 370thousand this downturn, made it clear there's more to the markets than we average joes know.

@@AanyaDarika_ who is this manager you use? I lost over 50000 already this year on Vanguard. Im in need of guidance from a financial-planner going forward.

Dang it. RU-vid must seriously devalue this sort of info. This was gold. Well delivered. Clear and concise.

Hello how to manage equity options when working with a remote team. specifically, when we do not know who is on the other end. or are not well aware of the team.

SALARY IS KING...ALWAYS! You should also talk about how banks only use salary to determine how much of a mortgage you can afford when buying a home.
@swish6143
@swish6143 Месяц назад
sure, but also consider that equity may make you not needing a mortage ever again. All a matter of timing.
@oGrasshoppero
@oGrasshoppero Месяц назад
@@swish6143 No, paying off a home and not having a mortgage is overrated. Debt must be considered when conditions are right (“never having a mortgage” is the wrong mentality)…thats the only path to wealth.
@swish6143
@swish6143 Месяц назад
@@oGrasshoppero II didn't say never consider debt, I say consider equity as well it might be worth it if the timing works for you
@oGrasshoppero
@oGrasshoppero Месяц назад
@@swish6143 Equity is gambling, salary is guaranteed…dont take my word for it. Banks view equity the same way. Thats why they dont factor in equity when you apply for a loan. Again, SALARY is always >> EQUITY.

I'm getting equity paid out due to my company going private. Is it possible to roll the equity over to another investment for lower tax payouts for the year?
@RecruiterPreston

That is a great question and I would definitely encourage you to seek a professional regarding this as I don’t want to share something that could be incorrect!
