Highland Park Shooting Leaves Toddler Orphaned 

No amount of money can replace parents, but at least he has something to fall back on. The kindness and support of people is heartwarming

May the victim’s families get the support and justice they deserve

I thought I was becoming numb from these tragedies and then this little guy popped up in my feed and I have cried so much for him and his parents and the other victims. His Daddy will always be his hero. May his parents rest in peace. God bless this baby boy and keep him safe. And thank you to the couple that rescued him. Angels on Earth do exist.

I hope the lady is doing well. It sounds like she just barely made it out alive too and even tho she was terrified and in shock, she still managed to grab the little boy and to bring him to safety along with her. You’re amazing lady. If it wasn’t for you who knows if anyone else of good faith was to find him. Bless him. Not even old enough to understand anything that was happening.

This is horrific and it was preventable. Yet, our lawmakers do nothing to combat gun violence. My heart breaks for this family.

I know exactly how the kid will feel as he grows up and asks questions about his parents.I lost my parents 8 days before I turned 4 years old,I'm 42 now and my Grandparents raised me too.May God And His Parents Watch Over Him From Above And Keep Him Safe🙏🙏

Poor Aiden McCarthy as he now lost both his parents and became an orphan because of this heartless person who's behind this shooting, I'm glad Aiden is with his grandparents and not sent to the orphanage.

I've never cried over a video before, but this one really has me choked up. His parents died as heroes for their baby boy. Rest in Paradise ❤

That’s just a shame to lose both of your parents especially at once! If he doesn’t have any family that will take him in, that couple seems like sweethearts that would be good parents with the kids they already have.

Imagine when he grows up, and every single kid asks, “why’re you living with your grandparents?” Cause everyone asks when someone says that (from what I’ve noticed at least). He’s gonna learn what happened eventually, n then he’s gonna think abt it every time he gets asked. 😢

This right here is TOO CLOSE. TOO CLOSE TO HOME. The fear in me that this criminal could have walked into my business to hurt my family and employees. To think that just 6 months ago I worked in highland park. To think about the gun threats that were made at my school when I was 16. To think that my sister will go to that school and it can happen in a school too. An affluent community doesn’t make us safe. A poor community doesn’t keep us safe either… What does???? WHAT DOES???

I cant even begin to explain how truly sad and depressing this is... I hope that young child has a amazing life, but it will be without a doubt hard.

I’m 35 with a 2 year old daughter. She, my husband and I were at the fireworks when a group of teenagers not 20 feet away dropped a few lit fireworks that flew sideways into the eh crowd and hit a bunch of people. I was so scared and angry. Then I got home and heard about this poor family and this poor kid who has no parents now and must have been so terrified with everything going on around him. It put my life into perspective. Made me feel lucky to have been just angry and not dead.

God bless this child’s future and bless that woman who carried him to safety and her family.
