I've enjoyed Celtic music for many decades. My personal conviction is that this Highland Session series represents that music in the most perfectly beautiful and tasteful form imaginable. The songs are wonderful. The singers are incomparable. The musicians couldn't be better. The setting is magical. This series is astonishing partly because it is so simple, unadorned and authentic.
Locked up, might as well do some time lists eh? Enjoy! O'Donnell's Return 1:29 Siúil a Rún (Go my Love) 4:21 A Mhairead Òg (Young Margaret) 8:53 Bunker Hill 13:07 Buile Mo Chroí (Beat of My Heart) 16:56 Táimse im' Chodladh (I Am Asleep) 20:59 Unidentified puirt à beul 25:36
Not sure if you will see my reply, Mikhail, but thanks so much for posting these for the entire series. I had made myself a sheet showing the order of the songs and the primary and other performers of each, but this annotation about the starting times is so helpful. I return to this series repeatedly to listen to particular songs and tunes, and am now sharing it with others who I hope will love the series as much as I do.
LOVE listening to this music of my Scottish & Irish ancestry, since it connects me & helps me feel the culture. Keep on playing & singing this AWESOME music!
Excellent group! If Mary Black ever leaves this earth, we may as well end it all, for it will be the end of the best. Long live them all and may they continue making music like this.
Scots are descended from the Picts and Gaels, who were Celtic. In the south, the Anglo Saxon strain is prevalent. So, the answer is "yes" and "no" as to the Celtic question.
Methinks this is all about music,Chris. There are other ytube programs/presentations devoted to civilisations and their origins. You are just trolling here. Personally, I am surprised that someone with a name like yours could be so small minded and mean spirited.
