“Green Door was inspired by Pacific Rim National Park on Canada's beautiful Vancouver Island.” This fougere like fragrance features notes of; Cedarwood, Oakmoss, Teakwood, Fern, Lavender, Yuzu, Vetiver. The resulting accord from this blend is a non-traditional, soft fougere. It smells extremely clean and is approachable and inoffensive. Mrs. Ruds is neutral on this scent choice. She neither loves it or hates it. Strength of scent is mid-strong off the puck and remains mid-strong once lathered. Try That Soap (trythatsoap.com/) recommends D.R. Harris - Arlington as a comparable scent profile.
Highland Springs Soap Co. tweaked their tallow base to address the first iteration being very soft. The base is now of mid firmness. Ingredients are listed as: Shaving Soap- Green Door. This is a thirsty tallow base that demands hydration. When properly hydrated the lather takes on the consistency of sour cream. Slickness is elite in terms of primary slickness and very good in terms of residual slickness. The post shave attributes of this base are elite. My skin was left well hydrated with a silky feeling after the rinse. The ShaveScore for Highland Springs Soap Co. tallow is a 99. For similar performance in a soap base, I suggest Zingari Man Sego.
