I really love the look that filters like the ProMist give footage so I tried to replicate that effect directly in Premiere Pro.

I was able apply this effect to the entire sequence: First "Nest" the full sequence, duplicate the nested sequence twice, and then follow the steps for the effects in the tutorial. I also saved a preset for each layer to speed things up for future projects. Great tutorial! Love the look, I was just looking at the Black Pro Mist filter for $200, thanks for saving me some cash.

Dude, that's fantastic, thank you so much. I needed something like this to cut Osmo Pocket clips together with footage from my nicer cameras that have actual halation filters.

Absolutely love this! Super helpful. Gonna try to get stuff like this in my stills too but great for me considering I can fit a mist filter into my kit just yet

Awesome tutorial man thanks so much! Just wanted to share a problem I came across and how I overcame it. I was working with Log footage and when I set brightness to -100 and contrast to 100 it was barely grabbing any of the highlights. I grabbed the brightness slider and started moving it closer to 0 until it started grabbing what I wanted. If you hide the second layer like Spencer did in the video then you can see it in action. Everything else worked exactly the same! Thanks so much man this was exactly what I was looking for! Subbed!

At exactly 2:00 you do an incredible move I can't seem to do with my 2018 PrPro (Windows). You drag an effect from a highlighted clip onto an adjacent NON highlighted clip. When I go to do this, I get the white glove closed fist with a crossed out red circle. Subbed & bell.

Great tutorial - I've been messing with HSL (the L specifically) and blurring it to try to get this effect but it's always too transparent. This is perfect!

I know i'm a few years late to this party, but if you're a photographer who is obsessed with CineStill and want that red halation, add a tint to the 2nd layer and then color it in Red and if you add a 4th adjustment layer and load a CineStill LUT, you'll get your movie to look more like CineStill!

simple trick :- 1) duplicate video ones 2) hide bottom layer 3) add luma key in upper layer and select bright most parts 4) add gaussian blur to upper layer (intensity is upon you) 5) enable bottom layer

Can I do this using adjustment layer? So that I Every time I don’t have to do this again and again. And only thing I have to do is replace the video.

Straight to the point , dope tutorial. may i ask? can i duplicate 2 layer then use luminance to seperate highlight then apply blur to the seperated highlight layer. will it achieve the same effect
@SpencerCohen
@SpencerCohen 5 лет назад
As long as it only applies the effect to the highlights you should be good! Try it out and let me know if it works.
