As an Atletico season ticket holder, I am happy with the result, but, I think this league needs VAR. I have my doubts about that penalty, and the replays of the 3rd Ottawa goal leave me a little in doubt as to what was going on. At the very least, we need to have more consistent officiating. I feel bad for the way the game ended for Halifax, but, I'll cherish those three points.
Allow me to explain... The assistant referee flagged for offside. However, prior to when the Ottawa player became involved in active play, the defending player committed a handball offense. According to the Laws of the Game, the handball negates the offside as it is considered a deliberate play, and as such, the referee correctly allowed play to continue and the goal to stand. It's actually a brilliant (and very difficult) decision. As for the penalty, it is soft, but Niba does pull him back so it definitely would not be overturned by VAR.

bro our league is tiny, the players barely make a living. We cant afford good refs. If you want better refs, tell your friends, go to games, buy the merch. Until we have a richer league our refs will always be shit.
@@Jammoh Too much diving and fake penalties. If its as bush league as you say then who knows who's on the take. IMO the game fixing is at the highest level and is as lucrative as the sport itself. Bin that way for awhile too !
