I was at the game and thought no pen at the time. Now after slowing down and watching frame by frame on ultra HD. That is never a pen, bolton player has his arm round Josh Earl after turning in the box and simply throws himself to the floor. There is no way that is a pen, ref can't see it. Linesman isn't moved by it. So unless the ref is 100 percent convinced and has a clear view it cannot be given. VAR over turns that, furthermore the build up when Sam Cosgrove is fouled and the encroachment for the follow up. Lots of things go against that decision. But all were ignored by a poor referee.
Shocking decision every time they went down it was a foul regardless of whether there was any contact at all, went down way too soft like they'd been doing all game but the pen was guaranteed because of how bad the ref was consistently all game. We go down after an actual foul and nothings given as well. Ref needs looking into honestly
How come Cosgrove didn't get awarded a foul? Santos (i think) sent him flying nearly into the linesman. Yet Jerome gets breathed on, 20 yards away from any official, and it's a "clear penalty"? Cracking. Definitely not dodgy 👏
Good result that we probably would've taken beforehand. But that 2nd half was a lousy watch, good defending at times mind. Kane shooting from kick off at 2-2 giving possession straight back to Bolton. Was mind-boggling.
Feels like a loss due to the timing of the equaliser and the debatable nature of the penalty but a fair result based on the balance of play. The additional time was about right because there was an injury to a Bolton player (Dacres-Cogley) earlier in the half, plus the substitutions. Nothing to do with Barnsley time wasting.
To all you Barnsley fans complaining, 1:36 your number 43 player blatantly used his arm to prevent the goal which was missed by the officials. We battered you and should have scored 5/6 and your only goals were mistakes made by ourselves. I'd be happy with a point.
@@tommysherman7155 No they didn't score 5/6 obviously, but they definitely should have done. Easier run or not, Bolton are a much better team, play much better football and I believe if promoted they would fare reasonably well in the Championship, whereas you'd be straight down, again.
@@leotarn2755 The Bolton players didn't appeal because they didn't see it, as did the officials. However, my point still stands, your player deliberately used his hand to stop the goal from happening, then ended up conceding the penalty later on. Karma.

I hope you’re right, re Bolton (Wanderers fan here), but we don’t half make life hard for ourselves. Literally gifted you guys the first goal & thankfully rallied in the second half. Probably should be won on reflection with the chances created. Our struggles this season have been scoring, whilst being on top. Recent results at Blackpool & Wigan showed that, thankfully tonight we came to life, to salvage a point. Barnsley were dog’ed & defended well, always a fiercely contested game. Final weeks of the season will be very interesting, top four all in the race for promotion!

So was there like some chainsaw wielding maniac that came onto the field and caused so much extra time? I was only able to see the score updates and kept wondering when the whistle was going to blow. Should've known it would only blow once Bolton got an equalizer.
No “chainsaw wielding maniac” just five Barnsley players going down off the ball, feigning injury/cramp, including the goalkeeper! “Gamesmanship” of the highest regard, the ref even picked one of them up in the end, because he too was bored of it #timewasting
@@PsilentMusicUK Absolutely! Thankfully (for us) the ref was on top of it early & warned them that the time was being added on. Though I will say that, Barnsley under Duff in recent years were worse than Tuesday night for the ‘dark arts’
