Brilliant game. Watched the kiwi girls walk over aussy without breaking a sweat. Was happily surprised with a a real tough match this time. . Hard as nails from the canadian ladies! Awesome. Should be extremely proud. Well coached. Brilliant. (From a kiwi)
@@DarkMoonWayfareratatu midfield pair will be even better. Grace & Amy both 24yrs old and will be the black ferns midfield pair for the years to come. Brunt only 19 so plenty time for her. Image there's an U20 Championship for women's rugby, Brunt will destroy any team at any day.
Absolutely! The more Canada has exposure vs. the top international teams, the better development they will get. At 21-28 that is a quality performance after 55 minutes. However, New Zealand teams are notorious for playing the full 80 minutes. Usually it is the last 20-25 minutes that teams fade away on energy or lack of fitness, due to the fast pace at which we play. Love from Christchurch, NZ.
Canada did well, half of their team does play professionally.oversees...NZ only went professional full time last year....Black Ferns definitely had more skill and flare....great games for all to play.....
That was a helluva game, and an electric atmosphere. Heaps of respect to the Canadian team and their supporters. They posed questions of our Black Ferns that Aussie didn't.
Canada's coach Rouet said it best we're close and yet so far away. Canada has a lot of heart and stuck in there but in the end the Black Ferns are a complete team with all the skills. Our backfield is years behind the Black Ferns.
Imagine that Wayne Smith will be the mentor of the black ferns and ABS coach razor in 2024 !😍😍😍 He will change them in the coaching to innovate always . They will be unbeatable .
wow Black Ferns - Canada was in the game in 1st half and it was good to see but 2nd half it is all about your fitness skills, speed, & communication and that never give in attitude has become a trade mark with all our womens / mens Rugby Teams.
It would be amazing if some Canadian players integrate into NZ domestic teams. I think it will really help expedite the development in their game which already has wonderful potential. Love from Christchurch, NZ.
NZ were relentless and gotta give credit to a very good defensive effort by Canada in the first half. Positioning rather than willingness caused the breaches.
Yeah nah canada actually showed quite a bit, far more than aussie did, Ferns too strong though, mentally could not maintain for the whole game like they did last week though. 7/10 match rating
Great game Canada are beginning to be a *force in rugby,* awesome from the Ferns though they were *put under pressure* n made mistakes, they still stacked up some good tries.
Great game, Black Ferns! It'll do them good to have some good competitive games like this - Canada really "hung tough" and were difficult to cope with but eventually the Black Ferns stamped their authority on the game and had a useful win.
Incredible game women rugby has come a long way .... the physicality and skill and pace ... wow ..... they really gave it to each other ... keep it up ...
Hmm. A bit of work required on Canada’s defence. Good to see them wake up and put some points on the board, but then weak tackling let the Ferns run rampant. Tries should not be easy at this level.
Well done Canada My apologies for thinking the Black Ferns were going to run away with the game, wasn't the case. Also great to see Amy du plessis getting more game time and player of the match and bringing in new faces to the squad really is good to see.
Yes great to see Amy being rewarded for her tireless work ethic. It must have been heartbreaking being left out of the world cup squad but she took it like the brave warrior that she is and now is surely a permanent member of the Black Ferms. What incredible talent this team seems to have. And it's still a work in progress, that hasen't reached its peak as yet., and when it does , watch out England and France. And the big stars like Portia, Stacy, Sara,Teresa, Ruby from the Black Ferns sevens haven't participated this year.
Imagine if the Black Ferns has their 6 superstar players playing from the World Cup that are on sabbaticals or on 7's duty....Portia, Stacey, Sarah, Therese, Ruby, Kendra....so much talent in NZ....way to go Black Ferns......
Two thumbs up for the Canadian women's team.. Plenty of grit and in a few years will roll into the top tier. Our women were just another level higher and it showed right to the last minute.. Well done all!!
Think they should be looking at developing Canadian women professionally... they have potential, they have a power game if they can get that right with their forwards they'll be better off in the future, be good to see these women getting paid... However NZ are a all rounded team that likes to play fast and move the ball because that's our DNA to limit their attack the opposition needs a good defence structure to shut them down...
The next big improvement in the women's game will be the improvement in the quality of referees - this is what is required for it to progress. This ref needs someone to explain the offside rule to her.
The referee was one of the officials at the last World Cup (I'm not sure about the assistants both of whom were from the US). Some of the non-calls were frustrating. I thought there were a few blocking that should have been called and there was a knock on that should have stopped play. There was a high tackle on Canadian player, but heard the explanation of it wasn't called. The second half was okay, but that restart call on that Canadian scrum because the ball "exited the same tunnel".... Canada hooked the ball back, but NZ just pushed them off the ball. If the ball popped out a few seconds after placing it in, I would understand the call. (I'm going to use the same principle when reaching out with the ball to down) That ball had two actions after it was fed into the scrum: the first movement was that it went to the back of Canada's scrum and the second movement was the lost of possession when NZ pushed over the ball. Normally, a restart is called when the feeding of the ball comes back without neither side gaining control.
Well done Black Ferns, was closer there in the 2nd half than i wanted, but ran away in the end.And canada at home did good there till the later tries made the score bigger for the BF team. But will they play like this again against us,or only at home, have to wait for there next test, not sure later in year,or next year or both. More regular tests against us,like last couple years could make them better on the end?.And think the pac 4 series,is every year now,but look at BF's when against aussie, some tests been close and others more a large score to the BF's.🏴👍👏
The first try awarded to NZ was a travesty. She was tackled and held. The struggle fest on the ground should not have been allowed. Not that it made much difference in the end. It's technically good rugby and the teams are well trained, well drilled and fit, but its just so slow. The ref was hopeless at spotting the numerous offsides by the Canadians and the NZ try when No 13 kicked forward, there were 2 Kiwis offside as they were in front of the kicker when the ball was kicked.
There were a few times they stopped it, but in general, no one completely stopped it. The Black Ferns scored a few times eight months ago including one against England.
