I was lucky enough to be at the game tonight! in section 128 row 1! Remarkable performance! 7 goals, 7 different goalscorers, beautiful passes. Najar with another stellar performance (so good to have him back!), and three or so of our subs got on the scoresheet! Paredes once again had a solid performance (hopefully he doesn't play too well in the future or other clubs will be sniffing around!). It has felt like so long since we have had a DC United team to be excited about, but a new coach, good signings, and a new style of play has been well worth the pain. No longer are we scrapping to not be last each season. No longer are we playing long balls or taking five seconds too long to shoot. What a turnaround from last season already! Only complaint is that the people in charge of the replays at Audi field only show one replay at most of various plays meaning replays are easy to miss. In our last home game against Inter Miami, they didn't bother to show replays of the red cards. Other than that, great atmosphere, great goals, and a fun night. Best of luck to Toronto for the rest of the season. I sympathise with their fans as they've been away from home all season and the performances have been poor. I hope you get a new manager and are able to turn your season around soon!
I was here watching the game live. What a game though! D.C. better keep this up! Edit: If you have never been to Audi field, Just know that the fan base live over there is real!
As a TFC fan, I sort of saw this coming when they hired Armas. I would've done everything to keep Vanney or given a young coach an opportunity to build something. TFC are too old and too slow. There's no identity. Their defensive identity is absolutely atrocious
TFC will probably give Michael Bradley another 3 year extension for his veteran leadership ! I can find 11 better players in the Toronto ! MLSE are clueless about soccer !
MLSE are definitely brainless. They definitely found the perfect manager in Armas to pair with their own incompetence. He has to be one of the worst managers in the history of sports.
It's definitely Armas. I know some of their players are old like Bradley and Gonzalez but they can't be this bad. They made it to MLS Cup two years ago.
I’m not a Toronto fan but Wtf is happening to Toronto???? They have Lawrence, omar González,Zavaleta,Bradley Osorio, akinola, pozuelo, altidore,Dwyer, like bruh how they can’t win a game with all of those players with those players they should at least be in playoffs position!!
Because this is a bad season for Toronto FC. I'd say it's a lost season as well. TFC should come back stronger by 2023-2024. They might struggle next year.
But with all of those players that I named your telling me that it’s not enough to at least be in the playoffs? I’m pretty sure there is teams that have a worst team than Toronto and they are in the playoffs,I just can’t understand how is Toronto playing that bad like with the team that they have they shouldn’t be losing 7-1
They ain’t been to a home game in a while. They get discouraged a lot when they are away. But they still are not their best at the moment, Especially in defense.
@@jaylenescobar8519 All perfectly reasonable excuses for not being able to perform on the pitch... for a college team. These are supposed to be professionals.
Should definitely include the starting lineups/formations for each squad before you start the match. Better for fans, good for the players and good for MLS.
Same!! I was in section 128! Best game in so long! I was shouting "we want 7" "we want 8"! It was a lot of fun! Great passes, and so good to have Najar back! Paredes had another good game as well!
@@ADAJ3KINGANGEL when i went for the DC Defenders games, there was a metro station in front of the entrance to Nats park and Nats park is like right across the street from Audi Field
I love the MLS because I find in this league the football of the 80's in France seriously. toronto should train its titular goalie intensively or simply switch goalies ! he took too many goals in one match that's a problem.
No more mindless kickball and taking 10 seconds too long to shoot! No more scrapping to avoid being the worst team in the division! This is a DC United fans can be passionate about and get behind! A team with identity! Even if we don't get the result we want, we are still turning up decent performances!
Toronto in a crisis of confidence. I understand they have been living on the road all season but they are not the first team to do that, or the first team to have to adapt and overcome. I don't think TFC have any more excuses.
@Étienne Bourgoin I don't disagree with you either. I'm a Red Bulls fan, so I knew nothing good would happen to TFC with Armas as their coach. On top of that, TFC's key players are all over 30 now. The only good thing about the situation is that TFC fans are spared from having to see them in person.
I'm not a big fan of soccer but yesterday my friend invited me to this game, and when you experience this in person it is 100x better than a TV we even got to meet Griffin Yow!!!
Red bull fans understand how tfc fans like me feel rn having chris armas as our manager but there is hope for toronto to do better and alot of work to do in the backline
mls is really weird with the constant changing of the guard regarding which teams do well in a season, its a different group of 4-5 each year that do well who in years past were trash and vice versa
@@cx34 I get what you're saying but I meant more like how a team can score 10 goals all season previously and then just dump 7 on a team that won it all in the last 4-5 years. The inconsistency of players and coaching in the league is kind of embarrassing to be frank
Having a salary cap forces a certain amount of parity you don't get in Europe. Each team is only allowed 3 high salary international level players, plus the cap available to pay the rest of the squad is low enough that you can't afford to have high quality substitutes. So most teams are going to struggle if their star players get injured or have a bad year. This is what makes the Seattle Sounders so impressive. They've made the playoffs in every year of their existence and have been MLS Cup finalists in 4 out of the past 5 seasons. Once again, they are the top of the standings this year, despite losing their star playmaker and keeper to long-term injuries. They just always seem to find a way to avoid having a bad year.
@@taeng0077 you make a point, but that’s part of what i love about mls tbh. i’m sure within the coming years, the impending 2026 world cup, and hopefully the raising of the salary cap, that’ll change.
Doesn't keep your team from still being mediocre, though. As an Orlando City fan I am enjoying watching TFC be terrible. I just hope we can beat New England this time.
@Étienne Bourgoin It's more a matter of the short term rivalry we've had with TFC. To meet them at the top year after year, and in the end maintain our quality while theirs plummets just feels good.
