The joints and motors do have physical limits on how much they can rotate or move. They cannot go higher than certain degrees. When you are familiar with something like that, it will never occurred in your mind that such crazy idea could be happened incidentally. To be honest, I'm more worried about those people getting dizzy and vomiting on their seats than getting smashed on the ground by the evil robot arm!
4:44 Just so everyone is clear, those 2 gentleman never chose to be manhandled by a psycho ex reincarnated to a robot. They were literally just tired from walking and had just sat down while chatting without paying too much attention until the ride was almost over. By the time they finished their conversation and realized they'd been under the control of a death machine/General Grievious prototype without the lightsabers, they were livid! Ended up sueing the company for 7 Millyen. Now whenever a couple sits down on those very chairs, music is blasted at inhumane volume while simultaneously crushing the occupants in a much much more robust and secure grip to let them know their impending doom is about to begin. So they came back to try the updated version and they loved it. Soon as they were about to do the same thing, blaring, screaming music was suddenly accompanied by a crushing bear hug which left them struggling to breathe and therefore continue conversation and so this time they were able to snap out of their zone to intense upside down g forces and a view of the entire center from the ceiling some how. Everyone agreed their screams of terror were absolute proof they were aware this time and couldn't sue again as some people thought their previous lawsuit was a conspiracy of AI to take over somehow.
I think a robot like the Kuka Robocoaster will come in the next few years for home gaming. If they will be able to produce a robot and sell it for a reasonable price for "everyone", this will be the first and ultimate real 360 degrees simulator for lots games, from flightsimulator to shooter. I bet, this will come as "normal" homegadget in the next 10-20 years.
@@nebula2dj maybe not Kuka but other Chinese company what will produce cheap (1000 USD) gadget for real flight simulator ( need chair with 2 or3 servo motors :)
Did you like it? Are you ready for the Fourth Industrial Revolution? Yes, the Fourth Industrial Revolution where many of us will have no place in the job market and there is nothing we can do.
I am fifty-one still waithing for my domestic home robot, come; enough of the heavy industrial robot`s ware are the one`s for the old people and the young at home, we need automation too. Come on boffins faster i am waiting for my terminator ! . And dont make them exclousievly for the rich they dont need help.
First of all, robots need to be designed, build, configured, and serviced. All that is not for free and employs a lot of people. Secondly, given that they would mostly be used to save money, it will make the product they make cheeper which means we can spend the saved money on other things or services that we like. This is they way industrialisation always made us prosper since the beginning of the industrial revolution. I'm not saying it will not change things, just saying that given the time there is no reason it has to be bad for society.
l'industrie n'en a rien a foutre de l'emploi ! et les politicards qui vous promettent une baisse du chômage vous joue du pipeau ! tout ce qui compte c'est faire du fric !!!
Hate all this robotic crap. People get lazy and more lazy... Nobody wants/needs/can work anymore. Sick world. But well, we wanna get every product we order online, as cheap and fast as possible.
So predictable. Looks like another whole branch of science monopoled GPU-like. There is no reasonable cause of such prices of robotic arms. Post Scriptum: there is not anything like economic intelligence. Median mid-level engineer poses majority of corporation knowledge - competitors employs his wife. I do have a thesis: personal safety is non-protectable, so as a result opensource-like production is quite optimal (Microsoft/AMD/Intel are not optimal).
In the past ten years, science fiction has all but become science fact, and of course in 2015, technology is even more that way! I mean, we may not have Hover boards yet, but the "smart phones" in our pockets are like tiny laptop computers! If you have to have a limb amputated, get a prosthetic! If you have a bad heart-valve get it replaced! Back in the 70's and 80's these technologies were confined to the pages of science fiction!
As usual Kuka rules, but for me the most surprising are the reactivity of the engines used by Epson,Is that because of Hanover place that ABB was totally absent ?. Anyway, this reminds me that it was my former job that sadly I didn't applied for too much years, you gave me stars in eyes: Thanks a lot for this.
But can you have sex with it ?... I joke, but hat was a pretty good video. Festo needs their own toy store chain... Ya know, make toys fun and interesting again. Every time I see a new Festo robot it gives me the same exact wow factor that let me know anything is possible as a kid.
5:48 imagine a flight sim designed for arobatics or watching a film with a virtual reality headset on,its going to happen, but its so expensive at the present, that machine was probably a few million.

The only question reamins-when does google acquire KUKA?
423. Gotta have one. Don't care what I'd use it for or anything for that matter, but ARR ARR ARR! Tim Allen would give it the rewiring seal of approval. :)
Good video only dumb thing was the robot throwing the people around with no safety cage super dumb they were one software error away from having there heads smashed
But it is important to calculate, how much robot is national-economically worthwhile. For a robot does buy no products! (Henry Ford/ New Deal) The same is the problem of highest income-tax. This is only a mathematical question. The more millionairs the lower their taxes, because the Army defends more than one. So you could calculate how much is the highest property worthwhile in a nation, dependant on national-economical product. Over that level your income decreases and you don't know why.
There are too many people for automation! If you have played Factorio, then you understand that only 1 brain from a person in the body of a machine should remain! I hope you will think about my words).
