Well done lads for the win and the clean sheet. Surprised with the starting line-up but spot on, good job Mr Warne. Rooney convincing and stabilise the back there. Should be more than one, positive play by the starting line-up so let's not change against Peterborough. Waggy now scored 2 consecutively so Collins gotta stay on the bench.
I went to the game yesterday we were very lucky to win Fleetwood hit the woodwork at least twice and our midfield and defensive play was shoddy , we just kept standing off them .Derby need significant investment to stand a chance of promotion.
At least someone said it , it was very poor again, fleetwood had most of the ball , not what should be happening at home 🤦♂️, looks like it’s gonna be a fight for the playoffs at most this season , we will see.
I can berated every time I say how poor this team is……why on earth do our supporters settle for shit performances year in year out by playing the loyalty card!!
I thought it was a much better performance than Tuesday night and the result really mattered! I really rated Thompson’s performance - he was trying to make things happen and has a bit more attacking threat than the three (Hourihane, Smudge and Birdy) that were in the centre on Tuesday. NML much more suited to being on the wing - solid first-half. Wags looked good - I feel like he’ll be strong for us at this level. Undoubtably we need 2 or 3 players in this week especially with three players out for 8-10 weeks. I still think Warne needs to get further away from 3-5-2. We have the players to play a solid back 4 with 2 holding midfielders, wingers, AMC or support striker and centre forward. I think Nelson could do a job at RB in a flat back 4 - if we keep hold of Cashin, that is. For me, I think the strongest team with the players we have is something like: GK - Wildsmith DL - Fozzy DC - Cashin DC - Rooney/Bradley DR - Nelson DM - Hourihane DM - Birdy (Smudge with Birdy out) AML - NML* AMR - Wardy (when fit) AMC - Not 100% sure TBF but one of Wags or Thommo, maybe Sibs** ST - One of Wags, Wash or Collo *NML could do well on the left as an inverted winger as he could cut in on his right and he seems a better finisher than crosser whereas Wardy is all about the delivery so needs to be on the right- With Wardy out, NML could revert to AMR and Sibs or Barkhuizen could go left. ** It would be interesting to see how Thommo could do as AMC, if he was given a drifters roles between the lines and linking the play he could cause a bit of trouble. Hoping Warne manages to get a few lads in this week - what’s Shane Long up to these days? Maybe he’d be too similar to what we’ve got or wage too high?? Looks to me like we could do with RB, CM, AML and possibly a mobile CF - Seeing Wags yesterday, I’m less bothered about a CF than I was a week ago but in an ideal world we’d get one in.
Agreed about Waggy. Good to see him proving his doubters wrong. Legs seem to be strong enough anyway. Definite penalty 1st half. Doubt we will keep hold of Cashin if right bid comes in for him. The money that Brighton have taken recently we cannot let him go for peanuts like we did with Knight. How much he is worth on his current form God knows. Ward will be our biggest miss, upto 8 weeks Warne said, JR definitely deserves a start. Go to be an interesting time before window closes no question.
Yeah, stonewaller on Wags. Agree about Cash but if we could get him back for the season on loan as part of the deal that'd see us through until summer. Hoping we don't panic buy and waste what money we have or will have like we have so many times in the past. Warne gives the impression that it's been a frustrating window, so perhaps he lost out on a few players to other teams with the aim of not overspending/maintaining financial stability and being fiscally responsible - and if that's the case, I can't fault it. Wardy a massive loss. Birdy's injury might be a blessing in disguise as it means we won't lose him for peanuts too.
Well played DCFC lads!! 👏 Clean sheet + 3 point!! 👍 Waghorn looks sharp, He Could actually turn out to a great replacement for all of DM goals from last season??! 🤷🏻♂️👊 Come on you rams!!! ⬆️🐏
Spot on! Was so poor for the third home game in a row, first 10 min was alright , after that looked clueless , fleetwood dominated the ball…..fleetwood 😭
Judging by highlights and BBC Radio Derby I would say the best players this season have all been very passionate for the club e.g. Waghorn, Forsyth, Sibley, Thompson, Cashin. I would like to see all the players doing this and I think underlines the mistake of letting Davies go and also we need to bring someone like Bryson or Shinnie who would run for days in the midfield and are very passionate.
Mendez-Laing so much better when running at people from the wing. Looks like we snapped into a lot more challenges and players putting themselves about a bit which they lacked last few games. Good win, need to make more of chances. A win next week surely puts us in a good position!
Not a chance of top six!!! Struggled to beat one of the weakest teams who hit the bar n post in the last few minutes. Great historic club now a very poor team.
