Great game ! 1) Fidji improved a lot, the backline always was dangerous but now they have strong forwards as well. If they manage to improve their kicking game and lineouts they may very well beat Wales. 2) As a french I'm not concerned about the level the french team is showing now. It's wasn't the A team and their not physically ready. We may (probably) loose the opening game vs NZ, but with no disrespect to Italia or other opponents the team doesn't need to be at 100% to beat them. They need to be at their best for quarter final and hopefully the next games.
That first game against New Zealand doesn’t really matter, as they will still have to play Ireland, South Africa or Scotland regardless of finishing 1 or 2nd

penalties were killing them, but they deffo have more structure to there game now.. and they challenge every breakdown, they just need to try and cut out alot of there unforced errors and there give anyone a game

Well what do we expect, Lomani is the love child of the FRU (Fj) & the team management. No matter how shitty he plays they’ll still find a way for him to stay on the field even moving to another position just so he can still be on for 80 mins.
Lomani 9 should of came off after 60 poor management really, gave a easy try and was slow at the break down. Fiji 10 solid just needs to stay away from the rucks and manage the game properly at first receiver.
Superb rugby France. Fiji lacked the experience in a pressure game as France wanted to build an impression as the world cup host but still yet Fiji displayed alot of positives and potentials. Good performance Fiji.

Definitely agree there bro Fiji certainly lost momentum after that intercept..... with that 24-17 Fiji was still in hopes of getting another try to level things up....that intercept was a game changer you can hear the commentator saying that was a sigh of relief for the les bleus who seemed to have been really lacking in certain areas over those few passage of plays.....
Kuruvoli should be starting scrum half to get the attack flowing and frank lomani should be played at fullback since he can kick and is a solid defender.

Personally, i would begin the World Cup with Hastoy who is very good to animate a forwards game (like he's doing for la Rochelle) then use Jalibert to unlock situations in the 2nd half.

You're 100 percent right there. We need a sizable fullback, not a half back size. Should coach try masi out as fullback. Maqala is too small and out of position and lack the stability that the.fb position demands. Now we may ask, what position was droasese picked for. He should be our number one fB with ravutamada as the.backup. Masi is an option. Raiwslui n co. Haven't picked a complete squad. By leaving out some matured and proven players have made our team look like they're missing the X factor although we have improved in certain areas. We have some of the best attackers in our backline but our play is not smooth. Our forward play has improved but our loosies have to help the tight five in the grind. Our game management has improved but still not efficient when it matters. I hope the coaching panel look hard again on our overall setup before the first game. There is something missing.
Fiji needs to bench lomani .. and bring on kuruvoli and .. and switch maqala out for drua sese ... Or salestino.. .. the game was there for the taking if they minimized the error the game wouldve been more close

Forwards did most of the job in this match. It is the flair from the backs aren't working because of the scrumhalf slow deliverance plus lack of coordination for general play from flyhalf.
These are "warm ups" for the WC but still they are designed to get up to speed and thats not happening so far for Les Bleus. France arent looking sufficient in depth at the .moment. 1st Test at Murrayfield 1st half you could tell jerseys were up for grabs and Scotland werent wanting to play 100%. Big lead lost by full time. 2nd Test St Etienne the real 15 were out on both sides and a tight game ensued till the 10 mins after half time. Again a large lead lost and bar 2 missed conversions France would have lost again. Ntamack though is the real loss. Ive always liked Jalabert but have to admit Ntamack is far better. Scotland France has been a toss up the last few years regardless of venue. 12 months ago id have been worried if you were 2nd in Group B as France looked fantastic. Right now i cant see any way they win their group or make the semis. Some degree of full on has to be played during these warm ups or your going in unprepared Test match wise. As a Scot i expected a spanking last week yet France collapsed as so often happens in the past they look unstoppable one minute and then the heads go down when pressured. Maybe the favourites tag being gone will be whats required. The pressure as the host must have been weighing heavily and they are certainly most dangerous when underestimated.
idk, we'll only know when we play the all blacks but in 2021 we played rather poorly in autumn before beating the all blacks in 2022 in the 6 nations we played rather poorly against italy to the point some people thought ireka d would smash us so i agree we do look not that great at the moment, but surely we'll see our true strength in the world cup (i certainly hope so at least)
Fiji needs a new 6, 9 , 13 &15. Forwards not playing together, no pack leader. Backs took deep when attacking. Fiji team got the size but not powerful enough for World Cup Level, also very lazy when comes to defence. Fiji should be awarded lots of Red cards, if continue playing like that against England, they will lose massively. Overall good but not enough to beat Wales in the World Cup. Finally can they just sing the Fijian version for the National Anthem, it's just too long.
Remember it's a World Cup warm up and a good exposure for our Drua boys, they will only get better and more experienced after this World Cup, should have brought in the Drua Fullback Valetini or Seta Tuicuvu because they can both kick and counter attack. Anyways let's prepare for England next week and the World Cup.

Yes it's a warm up game before the rugby world cup but let's be honest - why are teams going for 3 pointers all the time, we came to watch rugby i.e tries to win the game and not cheap kick at goal to save your pride from the last game they played against each other. If we wanted to watch a kicking game then we would watch football, this is rugby - give us tries as we paid for tickets to watch an actual game of rugby. They call themselves professional rugby nations and yet kick at goal 80 percent of the time.
Kicking is part of the game and of the main strategy of a lot of teams. If you aren't happy with that you're free to switch to football and let the true rugby fans enjoy the game and do pertinent comments on the highlights. Moreover, I don't understand why the hell you are complaining... this match was quite balanced with kicking, scrums, mauls, forwards tries and backs tries as well.

France' last three games havent been all that convincing. Lost against scotland, barley won the return fixture , and up until their last try were just about holding on against fiji
It’s very good for France, they need tobe ready when it matters not too early and they need to be seen as a darkorse not a favorite. Perfect start for them except for Ntamack injury this is very sad for him and a real loss even if Jalibert is world class too.

There was a clear and key forward pass in the build up to the first French try. If the Ref is not in a position to spot it, then surely one of the other officials should be letting him know. The TMO, in particular.

Fiji pretty much lives and dies by Lomani at halfback, should've been subbed off at that point by the 58th minute even if the overall outcome doesn't change.
