Wow... after directing a musical about Jewish people, Michael Arden's speech is even more relevant today. 'Parade tells the story of a life that was cut short at the hands of the belief that one group of people is more or less valuable than another, and that they might be more deserving of justice. We must come together. We must battle this. It is so so important or else we are doomed to repeat the horrors of our history.' FREE PALESTINE! CEASEFIRE!
Shouldn't the actors be supporting the writers and picketing along with the writers? This seems very strange that the actors go right on without showing any support or solidarity of writers.
The strike is for tv and movies only. Broadway has its own guild that isn’t striking, but is supporting the WGA. However, because of the WGA strike, the Tonys needed special permission to air on TV, but that’s also why it wasn’t scripted like it normally is.
Also the WGA decided not to picket the tonys. Plus the Tonys are a very big thing for acknowledging the hard work, creativity and time put into theatre
@@Quarthon We don't want to solve the divide. I do not want to be in the same room as someone like DeSantis or Mad Marge. I just dont want their need to scapegoat to cut off my basic freedoms.
@@Quarthon you have described DeSantis perfectly. By the way, who is calling people names now? If what this person thinks is fascism according to you that means they're a fascist. Well done

If you think all stage artists are rich, you are living in a fantasy land. Many are in economically vulnerable positions between gigs. I am guessing you do not have much experience with theater. Perhaps a Michael Bay transformers movie is more your type of thing.
I think it was in bad taste for the previous commentor to try to shame OP for lack of knowledge. The truth is most stage performers on Broadway make about $2,000 a week. Off-Broadway can be much less. And of course shows can close at any time. Performers are constantly auditioning for their next job. It’s an incredibly physically and emotionally taxing lifestyle, the vast majority are not fairly compensated for the work they are doing or the level of their value. I recommend looking into the information put out by the WGA and SAG striking organizations. Artists give their minds and bodies to organizations who take most of the profits. The Tonys are a wonderful celebration of the power and beauty of the artists’s work.

Well, the Tony's certainly don't love you, do they. Must be tough being a bigoted waste of space who's finally noticing that the world doesn't revolve around her myopic view of the world.
How is a non-white person winning an award and talking about it inherently political? If all the winners were white, would it be political anymore? Like cmon.
Do you normally repeat memes from your local hate group rally in random places on the internet or do you think for yourself occasionally? Just wondering.
Wouldn't it be great if we had a sensational musical with classic songs, wonderful dancing, a thirty piece orchestra, real sets instead of projections - and no agenda. And I don't mean New York, New York.
Jewish sweatshop operator Leo Max Frank was executed by hanging for the crime of murdering a 13-year-old girl employee of his, Mary Phagan Some have called the hanging a lynching, but was it? It was not carried out by an undisciplined mob, but by a citizens’ militia, who, with military precision and commanded by eminent men, leaders of their community removed Frank from his cell and carried out the sentence of the court. These men were outraged that Frank’s sentence had been overturned by an outgoing governor not only in the pay of wealthy Jews but actually a partner in the law firm that defended Frank. The militia men did not believe in mob rule - far from it. But they felt they had no alternative but to take the decision to carry out the jury’s sentence out of the hands of a corrupt governor and into their own. Why? What made these men so certain of Frank’s guilt, when today all we hear from the Jew controlled media is that he was innocent,
Victoria Clark, an icon of Broadway musical theater... MARGINIZED as a 16 yr. old in this diverse, inclusive WOKE piece of GARBAGE! She was UNforgettable & inspired as the mother in her richly deserved Best Actress in a Musical Tony win in the phenomenal, 'A Light in the Piazza'!!❤
Marginized isn't a word, but whatever you think it means, I don't think it describes winning a second Tony for the one of the most critically acclaimed performances of the season
