I’m curious what it costs to replace everything after slamming the wall for 30 laps to win the race. Aren’t these cars in the 75-100k range and don’t these races pay 5-15k to win?
Be curious to see HTF try the old Draime again. They seemed to be able to get it hooked up better than these newer high horsepower ones. Sure missing something. Can't keep starting in the back and be truly competitive with these guys. 😢
It's my understanding that the Jay Dickens Engine is on the lower side of cubic inches unlike the Clement's engine or the Dale engine are big engines. They need a crew Chief and I believe Joseph needs to change his driving style. He needs to stay out of the Create late models.
@@BigTader Correct the Dickens is smaller/less powerful but they sure haven't done much with any of their high power engines. See so many uninformed people screaming about needing more power. Joseph been driving for around 20 years. Probably not gonna change much. They just get so far behind in qualifying and heat races just can't get close to front. Everyone has same equipment. Driving every track like Winger gets expensive.
He didn't start close enough to the front to have a legitimate shot at winning. Starting up front is the key to winning a short race on a narrow track. Let's hope he has that part figured out for Saturday.
You are exactly right, they don't seem to understand that you don't need all that horsepower on those little bull ring tracks, it's that or change the rear gear
He had a top ten at a track he's never been to before. He should be better Saturday. Keep in mind, it's hard to pass cars without beating your car up on a narrow track like that, and it was only a 30 lap race. I've driven race cars and been a crew-chief on championship cars. Unless you've done it, you don't understand the ebb and flow of racing.
@@johncarter1137we have raced crates there . We know how hard of a track it is to. Trust me. Wasn’t being negative , just speaking truth . Once you get into Tennessee and Kentucky, you better be elbows up !
Agree! Understand new tracks this year. But if you're good and the set up is right. You should be good anywhere . And don't wanna hear excuses other guys do it daily. But let's go HTF
@@jimrice7473 They tried running hot set up from guy that helps Moran and some others. Joseph couldn't get it to turn. Gave up on it. Went back to basic Longhorn setup. At least making the feature now. Went few months missing races with the go-fast stuff.
They need someone who has set up cars for every track they go to if they want immediate success, but that's expensive. They are a family team, running against people who have been in the super late model game a lot longer than they have. It's not as easy as it looks. I've been in a race car and have been a crew-chief on championship cars, so I know what it takes.
@gailtaylor1636 Avoids tearing them up yes. But the finishes are average at best. You don't see the other guys worry about tearing shit up. That's why they win. And don't wanna hear about money. They have a big sponsor and few other decent ones
@@gailtaylor1636Joseph ain't smooth at all he's drives scared period...that's why when they went to Eldora and was 5th fastest as soon as it came to racing he was bullied and lost...he doesn't have the right mindset to run with the big dogs or even the little dogs for that matter anymore....When you finish 15th and the 1st thing you hear is well dang at least the car is OK you don't have a shot. The only was HTF will have any success is go back to Crates because there's not a brain in their pits who has a clue how to set up a car or make adjustments
@@redeyedmongoose2963 There are 100s of tracks , they don't have to race on crap like that . I I would be pissed if I paid 40 bucks to watch the dumpster fire that was .
