@kieron Bell pal dw ive played cb for years where you get virtually no praise and one mistake and everyone blames you. I feel for the keeper. But the entire technique of how hes trying to catch it is beyond questionable.
@kieron Bell you could argue its a tactical foul and that as a lower league team theyd back themselves on a cross as they deal with them week in week out. Its a minor mistake yes. But the keeper error is titanic, and more worryingly wasnt down to an unfortunate lapse in concentration it was because of a seriously flawed technique. Ive seen outfield stand in pub league keepers catch with a more accomplished technique than that.
Thought Jorginho's shocker against city in the league cup final was the worst penalty I've ever seen but then big Jake Cooper only goes and balloons one over the bar
@@mkd6710 Same. I just remembered that Celina's slice when he took his penalty against West Brom was comical aswell. Probably tops the Jorginho and Cooper penalties
Look how indignant the manager was. You can tell that they encourage that sort of thing. Normally I would enjoy the romanticism of a small team beating some pl giants but not a team that plays this brand of football.
Glenn Murray had the last laugh over us Millwall fans. We spent most of the game on all 3 Home sides of the stadium singing "Murray,Murray You're A XXXX and what happens? His team make a "miraculous" comeback with 2 late goals including the last kick equaliser and then instead of celebrating he makes us all feel humble and remorseful by NOT running with all the others at the end but making a point of consoling every Millwall player at the end and not gloating at all. I reckon that is Game,Set and Match to Murray ( where have I heard that before?) lol
This game shows why var is needed Millwall generate a aggressive atmosphere at home the officials ignore at least one clear pen to the visitors they allowed a goal that they clearly should not have and then disallowed a perfectly good goal and all the big errors favour the home side. Var now. Ps Millwall still deserve a lot of credit they went for it and came within seconds of a result
Which as a MILLWALL fan who first attended 57 years ago is why I do NOT want VAR....apart ffrom the fact it kills spontaneous,j oypus celebration as one eye is waiting for a signal saying there is a review. It will kill atmospheres stone dead but in these computerised, impersonal brain-dead times we must be technically correct even if it takes 3/4minutes zzzzzzzz
@@Isleofskye but then what about the south korea - germany game? The tension of the first goal being called offside, the revelation that it wasn't before the eruption of jubilation. It gives and it takes away, but the positives are way too big, especially when you look at all the decisions over the last 2 years that could've easily been avoided; They add up. I wish they could just make it rugby like and not have the referee decide himself, but I'm not complaining if a team like milwall gets far because the ref is scared of some fans, consistently refereeing poorly for their benefit against clearly defined rules.
Hi Kieron.I will reply later today but just to say IMAGINE the scenes at Millwall yesterday where the crowd went through the whole gamut of emotions including utter dejection at that last second mistake for it to go to Extra Time and then that 3rd Brighton goal with, virtually, the last kick of extra time being ruled offside and THEN at the very end of the 120 minutes with no chance of a Millwall response VAR decides it WAS a goal.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been since 1962 and seen riots there from 1967 onwards against Plymouth/Derby/Birmingham/Ipswich and Luton 1985 Quarter Final but this would have topped them all,sadly...
Just thought of a very salient point here. We NOW know that "3rd" goal was onside but everyone heard the whistle and we all saw the flag go up and so no-one bothered when he half-heartedly put the ball in the net and the Goalie, like everyone, stopped. What would happen under VAR when keepers never bother when they know play ceases? LOL @@@kieranbennett7453
@@HarryWessex because people hate on them to be part of the crowd. They know millwall are a rogue and unique club who are in control of themselves and they hate that because their team franchiesed
Millwall fan went to the game, Murray was getting an unbelievable amount of stick! And what a class showing from the man to straight away shake our players hands after the pen miss. Class from Murray. In the end gutted to let a 2-0 go to waste but the Brighton 3rd goal wasn’t offside and should of stood , good luck with city we would of lost about 10-0 anyway 😂 Another premier league club struggles at the Den! Good luck Albion in the semis! COYL
@@andysayers5158 so your players are scummy and youre cheating with the ref? what a way to advertise your club, no wonder no one supports them outside of Bermondsey...
Was a nice touch- perhaps a bit of humility because of his miss- and don't forget he'd never have kept up with the others -either way was a respect thing
@@10roundsboxing You say not all of Millwall fans are hooligans (which is true tbf), but you literally just attacked someone saying, "Wot a prick you r mate saying that".. Everything in those comments was so chavy and illiterate.. You're really not helping your case x'D
Can we talk about that Brighton player who instead of celebrating the final penalty decided to go to the opposite team to shake their hands? That's absolutely brilliant sportsmanship!
Because it isn't fair to smaller clubs outside the premier league that aren't set up with enough camera positions to use VAR, to make them all put it in at huge cost just for a trial run in the FA cup. When they may not even play at home or even use it if they do. They decided to only use it for games played at premier league grounds as it wouldn't cost any of the teams involved any money.
This cup has a sponsor and organised by the FA. They can set up cameras for Quarter Final matches, at least. They can easily install the system and fund the costing. It is that simple. "Fair play" is more important than money.
@@rubycon39 So. How fair would it be for the FA to fund the var for a quarter final team that doesn't use it.....when a 6th round league two club was knocked out due to decisions that would of gone their way with VAR.
phil stansfield So you are saying that if a first round team doesnt have a fair play, a quarter final team should not deserve justice too? Is this fair? Imagine that a low scale team reached the final and lost the game due to a wrong decision. Is this better? Even a first round team supports VAR system at any stage of the tournement where the FA can provide - believe me.
mtmb73, You obviously know full well too that Millwall should be concentrating on the league so dropping out of the cup is not a bad thing. Thanks for backing us mate, appreciate it ;)
As a Millwall fan who attended through the bright sun then rain then sun then hailstones allow me to say Vivaldi would have been proud of the elements...
Fair play to Millwall getting this far, but this is why concentration is key in vital stages of cup ties. Unlucky Millwall always love to see an underdog story, from a Bristol City fan
There are a lot of anti-Millwall comments here. I have to say I felt very sorry for the Millwall team as they had just about won it but for that last gasp error by their goalie. They must have been absolutely gutted. I've seen the free kick in question and I agree with the pundits that if the goalie had let it slide the shot would have been wide of the mark. However, that's the nature of the game and that's why we all love it. It's never over til it's over. Well done Brighton and commiserations to Millwall and their passionate fans.
Just home. Most gutted I have been since 1962 when I first attended. To make it even worse when Millwall are in a great position in a significant match I take a £300 on them NOT to win in the 90 minutes to lose just £20 as those were the odds at 2/0 wuth 4 minutes left....
Told the missus that's not hail (it was summer out there at times) it's the floodlights making it seem that way- I suppose I'll be cooking and washing up from now on.
Watched this and seriously you have to feel for Millwall as they should be on their way to Wembley as better team within the 90 although they might feel hard done by as 4 mins add on but sure felt longer than that when Brighton scored. First Brighton goal was a nice finish though but for Millwall the less said about the second the better. Never nice to see a tie go to extra time on an error.
How was that 3 Brighton goal offside? this is way woman can’t officiate men’s soccer matches In such a important match, there has to be a player who loses his temper and basically ruins the game for his team . Now let’s all sing “ everyone loves you , loser millwall at the den , yes we care defeated millwall at the den “ ( keeps repeating )
Gutted for Millwall, especially the keeper. They had the game won then that happens ,but that’s football I suppose,2 mins from Wembley.Unfortunately it looks like City can do the treble now ( up the reds!)

My point is that I saw the flag ( wrongly as it has transpired) go up and immediately relaxed and the goalie did not even try to save it as he either heard the whistle or saw the flag so the point still remains. What happens if players like the goalie play to the whistle/flag ? @ @@Tom-ef9vz
Frankly i think anyone who acts like that at 3:40 should be banned from playing, no place for that shit in the sport and is complete scummy behaviour. There's dirty tackles, and then there's trying to cause serious injury.
fair play Brighton you stuck in there where others would crumble, love to see u do city now, great support even when 2 down, top manager all the best from a gutted millwall fan
Millwall put In a brilliant performance every single Millwall player was on top of their game it was unlucky that they didn't get the win that they deserved. The Millwall supporters were also brilliant.
ToMahawkz123 You've got to praise Millwall for the performance today they worked so hard and were just seconds from going to Wembley. Brighton were shit and robbed Millwall. The reason I said they deserved it is because of how much they put in to the game.
