I’m a hardcore Charlotte fan but I’d be thrilled just to make the playoffs. We lost our best defensive player in Corujo and our back line is nowhere near deep or solid enough to make a run all the way to the Cup in my opinion

It’s because some clubs share stadiums with football and baseball teams such as New England, NYCFC, and I can go on. They have to install the tech for every game and that would be a challenge though I’m not sure on how hard it is to install.

Not likely to ever happen. Last I saw, the IFAB approved Hawkeye GLT system costs over $350K per stadium plus $50K/yr operating costs (I don't know if it can even be used in multi-use stadiums where the goals are removed and reinstalled many times a season). There's no way MLS owners approve that kind of cost for the couple of times per year that VAR can't resolve what GLT could.

NYC was playing decent in the first half. They're just in a slump. Which is great. Because Charlotte needed that second away win! With Corujo injured I was worried that they weren't going to be as tight defensively. Looked like they just went a little harder offensively this time. It was really nice to see.

And thanks to this win, we're in 10th, but now have the chance to jump into playoff contention with one or two wins.

@@docequis9796 huh? I'm talking about the penalty.. the var got it right. I just wonder how the refs decision was to not give it. Refs in the mls usually give out penalties for the slightest touches when the attacker is opportunistic enough to go down

@@user-ve7hn2dh8h Charlotte FC has had other fouls happen in the penalty box, and refs didn't give us the penalty for them. That's what doc is talking about.

I have noticed that If one reviews controversial calls one by one often there is the "i can see that might or might not be a call" but when you watch the whole game and every borderline decision goes one direction or is inconsistently applied then the bad refereeing is exposed. My point was for Charlotte this year the inconsistent referee decisions have been against Charlotte AND even the VAR reviews have been unfair to them. This game at least VAR was awake. And we know that the referee is not always in the best position to see every tackle and needs good AR help but I think they are too often ignoring fouls to allow VAR to call the game for them.

@@Tidalstream I know. I am a Charlotte fan. I really don't expect other team's commentary to be great because from the prospective of Charlotte's opponents, they are playing an expansion side that has absolutely sucked on the road.

@@Tidalstream I am absolutely agree to that. That's why I never comment on the other team's broadcast being bad. None of the other home broadcasts meet the standard of Lloyd and Eric, from what I have seen.
