Because the ABs selectors don't need to watch the cream of the crop trial three times. Not worth the injuries for one, and they'll have seen enough with this display. Fossie and Co will be happy . That's my take Dhiren.
@@KernowekTim Yeah I get you. Still it would be amazing if it was. I'm really looking forward to see Caleb Clarke and Will Jordan in All Blacks Jerseys... its so hard to maintain a place out wide in New Zealand right now - Julian was dropped for Rieko, then Rieko barely featured at the world cup in favour of Bridge and Reece. It'll be really interesting to see an All Blacks side at the '23 World Cup with first rate players like Clarke, Jordan and Weber having 30 - 40 caps under their belts.
@@dhirenfernando8159 Clarke, he was terrible. I hope he get's outta here as quickly as he came in. We have too many classy wingers to allow dog shit errors and giveaway tries like that. No perception whatsoever
I didn't hope less from these teams, that game joined rugby elite. It was amazing. Congratulations and great match! Unfortunately I couldn't see it live. Greetings from Mexico. 🏆👏🇳🇿🇲🇽
@@kruger2.050 Rugby is a sport little known and practised here in Mexico. I still don't know anyone who was a rugby fan. People are more interested in football, wrestling and boxing.
Extended highlights??? I want pre and post game analysis, the full game and make it a three game series.... if this isn't already happening every year, make it a annual thing as well!
to the point of heroic resistance, 100% fold the baggage down all the time. The players shirts nipple would soar like manic mermaids in the ice cold sky. Period
I’m an Aussie, but that was some of the best rugby I’ve seen in some time. Well done boys - beautiful plays. It’s the only game with over 7mins of highlights cause there were so many! What a game of tug-o-war! Beauty!
@mnika voli New zealand government havnt allowed the public to attend these events due to the small rise in covid cases. Theres a limit to how many people you can have at an event. i beileve the limit is less than 100
This is what I love about NZ rugby. They ain’t afraid to try anything either it be to shut the game out or snatch victory as was the case with this game. AMAZING😃
I just feel like they ignore defence. This whole "attack at all costs" is not my thing. I do enjoy the style of play on attack but there is also no real attempt at defence. I just don't know why a team that gives away 35 points is okay with that. To me it is embarrassing.
@Bigbradwolf only 1 mil in south but you don't realise this is not where you're from it's what province you debut for. Alot of players are from north but for example played for otago or canterbury. And mckenzie is from south but played waikato and chiefs. If it was, where you were born or from. Half the players from south wouldnt be able to play for south.
@Bigbradwolf jordie barret, jack goodhue, brandon ennor, scott barret, dillon hunt, brad webber, finlay christie, Josh ioane. They all qualify for the south team but they're all from north island. So it's not true where u are from north vs south. It's provincial team north vs south.
@@Martin-pb7ts I dunno SA has lost to NZ by >35pts before ask them what its like to defend it. I think you are being a bit harsh when done right a good attack can be unstoppable. Its funny because SA schools play more like the ABs than the Springboks. Why is that?
I honestly dont even know the rules of rugby but I have loved since I first watched a game. From sevens to Rugby X ive loved it all. I love all the players from Newzeland especially guys like SBW ,McKenzie ,Ruby Tui and Lomu. THIS GAME MEANS A LOT FOR ME.
Truly fantastic rugby! Adore and respect from Japanese. In the match I think McKenzie is showing small players can success and I want to see him playing in All Blacks!
He would of played in the last world cup but was out injured. He should make the all blacks team but has to compete with Jodie barrett for full back...
@@hanbing1051 what are you talking about bro ? Too small ? , but he is 2nd behind Will Jordan in meters carried in super rugby Aotearoa ?Idk wtf you are talking about bro Btw Saders !!! South behbeh
@@sovietonion72 Exeter and Sarries primarily employ running games, structured on exploiting their powerful mobile pack structures. This match was an All Blacks trial, and so was an exhibition of ball-in-hand rugby. But you are right insofar as the NZ 'brand of rugby'.
A Big FAT Congratulations to the awesome South Island Team. Awesome players Will Jordan, Jordie Barrat, Richie Maunga & all their smart awesome team mates. Magnificient display of our Rugby Players, wonderful game.
As a wallabies fan it's just so nice to see NZ team finally lose a game of rugby. But in all seriousness, what a game. This should 100% be a 3 game Series.
Mounga is a very good player but he wasn't that special during this game, I think guys like jordie, McKenzie, sotutu and riko had more noteworthy performances
Reiko reminded us of the player he was before 2019. This is probably his position now to lose. That Sanders was a bit new to me. Will Jordan came thru in the 2nd half at least. As always, I thought Aaron Smith speeded the North's game when he came on.
Disagree. He has lost pace and made some bad defensive reads leading to two tried... Too much of a show pony. He's probably 4th in the race for Centre behind Goodhue, Linert-Brown, Enor,
@@jm1ah785 I dont know wtf game you were watching mate..... Neither of those tries were his fault... id blame the first one on D mac or caleb clarke... & that second try he had his man covered it was sevu reeces man who angled his line in.... & I guarantee he is the fastest centre in NZ .... Rieko had an excellent game. You sound like a senile jealous old man who thinks he knows it all LOL .....take a seat you wannabe all black / coach...
@@tremolony4924 True. Once again D Mac gifted the opposition a try. I am a long time critic as I've always thought his faults are completely ignored while there is this effusive and blind praise when he does something good, but I have to say I felt the North backline came alive when he replaced Barrett. I would really consider playing Mounga and Barrett at 10/12 like they do with Farrell and Ford in England and play Jordie Barrett and D Mac at fullback. With Goodhue at 13 (Ioane as replacement) I think that is a cracking backline.
Just quality everywhere in NZ rugby. Head and shoulders above anyone else with skill,in my opinion. Someone was being particularly difficult that I didn't specify this so I have 😊
Hmmm, I think there are a number of people who would disagree with that. For one the English squad that had them for breakfast in the World Cup semi-final last year as well as the current World Champions.
We are the only team to win the world cup back to back we won it in 2011 in our home country then we won it the next world cup in 2015 no other rugby team has won the world cup back to back and we also won the first rugby world cup in 1987. We have also been really good at the bledislo cup Australia hasent beaten us since 2002 and we have won it 48 times so we are actually a very good rugby team thank you very much.
Martin Coetzee all blacks beat South Africa in pool play. All blacks might of lost the World Cup that doesn’t mean they haven’t been dominant over the last couple years. Be humble
@@Martin-pb7ts MIB'S are the best bro no question. The legacy speaks for itself. No other team in sporting history has been more dominant at there craft, as this All blacks Rugby union team has been. Great sides with phenomenal talented people at it's disposal have been put to the sword. It's a unanimous argument who the best rugby nation in the world is.
@@locominyana8916 If you want to talk lrgacy or history then know your history. History didn't start in the year 2000. The Springboks regularly owned the All Blacks in the 20th century. The Springboks won their first test series in New Zealand in 1937. In fact if you hang out with some very old All Blacks supporters you might hear an old joke: Q: "Who were the best test team to ever leave New Zealand shores?" A: "The 1937 Sprinboks." The All Blacks won their first series in South Africa in 1996, sixty read it SIXTY years later. Talking or World Cups, the Boks have a higher percentage of World Cup wins having won 3 out of 7 (43%) while the All Blacks have won 3 from 9 (33%). So skin it however you like mate but when you talk about history and immediately show yourself to be ignorant of history, well that's just embarrassing.
Well that was like something out of a fantasy land, great game. Hopefully we see more stuff like this in the future. Good thing for the rugby world that the two islands of NZ is one country!
Great stuff! This is a great throwback to the good old days and I'd like to see another - Scrap Super Rugby and bring back the full-scale **tours** by the ABs and the Boks! Tours that used to have 15 or so games and we'd be **riveted** to the TV as the ABs took on Northern Transvaal or Western Transvaal or whoever, plus the Tests! Same with the Boks - they can come here and play Waikato, Southland, Taranaki plus the Tests. Super Rugby has had its day. BRING BACK THE TOURS!
Absolutely majestical . A complete Heart stopping ,edge of seat game of footy. Both teams were world class. What a great headache for fozz & co... Up the ABs
I'm a Bok supporter so not quite as enthusiastic. I think that there were a lot of exciting moments in the game but how exactly is it okay to have another team put 35 points on you? This complete disregard for defence is not a good sign.
@@Martin-pb7ts agree with you there buddy . But I guess with so many attacking weapons on the field at the same time it was always going to be a try fest.
I watched the full match and I must say watch the WHOLE thing - it plays so intensely with such a next level skill set your jaws will be hanging and your eyes will be buldging in absolute awe. This truncated version does not do the full match justice. Love from Canada. You Kiwis made my day. FULL ON.
Now I hope they make this an annual event and not a one off thing ever since the sport went professional we haven't had a north vs south match since the early 90's
Spot on mate. It’s one of his worse traits. (Decision making under pressure) Other than that, he’s a great player. Just needs to pick the right moments.
cover defence already had the north cramped on the sideline but it was a bad pass, true. Can you point out one other bad pass he made in this game, then look at the the tries he set up with exquisite timing, not to mention double handling in two?
@Ignore what I’m about to say but The South seemed to have better forward play and the North had better backs. If you only like open field passing you should watch 7's.
@Ignore what I’m about to say but While I really enjoy good backline play, I think there's something to be said for the brute force play of the forwards.
I think we're set for half backs for a while now. Quality props, centres and wings coming out of our ears. Besides being south biased the raw talent from the youth across the country is super refreshing to see. Typical never day die kiwi finish.
53A17 E tbh i thought that, maybe because of the big names like ardie, sotutu, tuungafasi etc compare to south which have some newcomers like tom christie, tom sanders etc
If they make this a series like state of orgin. Imagine how big it would get the world would be tunned in to watch the series the best Rugby Players in the World and itll be a big financial beneit for NZR.
Great game but it doesn't have the same draw as State of origin. You need players to play for the island they were born/raised in and allow for some genuine rivalry. That's what makes SOO so popular, the tribalism.
Can't wait to watch the replay A) used to think Jordie was overrated but ever since his huge tackle for the canes I've realized I was wrong B) rieko looks like a douche when stands over his opponents looking down on them; especially Jordie on the kick try; you only finished a great kick and its not like you dominated him there.
Bro. He does that all the time. I've seen it time and again. I want to love and praise the uso but he keeps doing that shit. Might be acceptable in Auckland but is not All Black worthy.
This match is a good example why your forwards need to dominate, the north has the backs but the south killed them with the dominating forwards and winning ultimatly
This is the best Rugby match in the Whole World. The best of the best ...separated into two......and play against each other. Priceless showdown.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Honestly this is not a full highlights video. It’s just the tries, the game had so many ‘high’ light runs/hits/offloads. I mean you missed the very first 40 metre highlight run by Caleb Clarke!
@@masoncarter9864 unfortunate but smart. Here in American there's thousands effected everyday, but we opened schools anyway, and now thousands more are infected.
He plays 5mins out of the 80. You didn't miss much. If you track him during the game you'd probably fall asleep. Unlike Reece who always looks to be involved which explains past selections. Plays with aggression but is inconsistent and lacks defence. I don't like the chip on his shoulder. Shows immaturity and poor sportsmanship. More is expected in the black jersey. In my opinion.
@Thomas Vaatuitui thanks man. It actually hurts to say it cos I want him to succeed big time. But the attitude disturbs me. His brother gets like that too sometimes. I don't understand it? Both have so much physical potential. Worth nothing but my 2cents to take or leave.
Nearly a point a minute, at Test level! Which just goes to prove that nobody can hold out the Kiwis when they are attacking. A truly great game. The true thank yous would go all the way to primary schools.
