Considering how preseason went, I think a draw at Providence Park is a very solid result. We had impressive moments but there are still some knots that should/will be taken out. Omar just hasn’t seemed on it. His performance against the Galaxy was dreadful and he had some rough moments tonight. Henry needs to be fit soon, and I feel like Jon Bell should have got the nod. Andrew, EEJ, Seba, Brandon and Dejuan all performed very well. A very strong first half and quite lackluster second. I wish we attacked the same when we are winning as when we do when we are down or drawing. It took until the 87’ minute for us to have a well organized attack in the second half. Not a sloppy long ball counter that we always go to when ahead. We did the same last year but often finished with a result that would cover up the poor attacking play. Many wasteful crosses in this one instead of clean passing and waiting for the right ball into the box. Though that will most likely be faded out in the coming matches. I also think we were somewhat lucky to escape that pen shout Moreno had. He was looking for it but it was a sloppy challenge from Lletget. The goals we conceded and scored were both very well taken and a deserved draw I would say. Not to mention the last time we drew 2-2 on matchday 1, we went on to break the points record and lift the shield. Back home to duel it out with Dallas! GO REVS!!!!!!!!!
This team is not build to sit back and defend, especially when you are working with your 3rd string keeper. Omar was not a good signing and his performances in preseason / tonight have shown why. Earl made a couple good saves but he could have done better as well. However it's not like he's actually played often or recently. Still, he let 3 past him (1 was rightly called back). Jones had a fantastic game. Aside from the goal I was not really impressed with Bye. He kept the man onside for the first goal, left the man wide open for the second goal, ALMOST kept the same man onside for the goal that was called back. Really poor on the defensive half, and his crossing was just "lob it in and hope for the best". No accuracy at all. BUT we have no backup RB so he really needs to work on his game and step it up cause he's all we got. Bou was... fine but off target with every shot. Buksa had one real clear chance and man he almost had the game winner if not for an impressive save. Honestly, 2-2 was a fair result on the road with only 2 real preseason games several weeks ago. Let's take some frustration out on Dallas and be relentless on the attack for the full 90 (STOP SITTING BACK TO DEFEND!).
@@paulmiller7838 I really agree that we just need to control the ball. This side is built to attack and we do it brilliantly, when we have possession. Absorbing pressure and looking for the counter doesn’t suit this side, especially after having sold Tajon. Brandon’s goal was a fantastic header but defensively he was shakey. I really wish both BB and DJ would work on their awareness. Dejuan was better today but they can both be completely unaware of who is behind them, who they’re keeping onside, etc. I think more communication between this backline defensively would improve us so much. It also came to the point in the second half where Carles barely got on the ball. I think all debutants bedside Omar performed well and it is a match to build off of. Comparing this to the first match last year v the Fire, this was 1,000 times better.
The revs have a good team the most important things for revs is to win mls Cup not to win a supporters shield.Last year was historic but when you lose the 1st playoff game then it's like that whole season means nothing tbh.Thats just the way it is unfortunately.
@@heisyahweh7148 I disagree, the playoffs in general are pretty good usually, I can't speak for every one but I wouldn't get rid of the playoffs but rework them, the current system hurts the best seeds in each conference too much
@@heisyahweh7148 nah that's why it's the best. We don't want the European style where a champion is decided when they're NOT EVEN ON THE FIELD! THAT is stupid.
I would like to point out two things. 1. For a turf field, that pitch looked bloody awful. 2. For a national broadcast on Fox, the quality of the image was horrible. The closeups looked fine enough but the wide angle shots looked like they were from the 1970's they were so bad. Does Fox not have any better camera's to use?
Tomara q ambos dos dois vão longe nessa concacaf champions league tá sem graça só os Mexicanos vencendo e os americanos pipocando espero q esse ano tudo mude
Well, to be honest, Lletget had his foot planted and then HE got kicked. That would be one hell of a bogus PK call to make. I mean, if you kick someone else and then flop to the ground you aren't going to get the call. If Lletget kicked him and he went down THEN he would have gotten it, but that is not what happened.
@@paulmiller7838 ...except that Lletget was behind / next to Moreno, not between him and the ball. A foot being planted doesn't matter if the player doesn't have position. Obstruction is a foul, and a foul in the box is a penalty.
@@paulmiller7838 Moreno is winding back to kick the ball and Lletget gets his foot in the way without making a play on the ball, that’s about as blatant a penalty as it gets
Nobody want to watch a game from 10,000 feet, nobody wants to watch a coach walking the side lines while the ball is in play. Nobody wants to watch a player walking around the field while the ball is in play. Lousy directors.
