I admire Ipswich's fight and that they never give up. Two draws against Leicester should give them hope that when their defence is switched on they can do it, but their defence has leaked so many goals when they take their opposition for granted. Lessons will need to be learned when it comes to playing Leeds.

The whole point of playing out from the back is to bring the opposition forward and create space behind. When they start to press high and aggressively chase down, that's the very moment to play long/wide.

We're miles off it unfortunately. Leeds and Southampton will be well ahead of us by the end of the month. A team that defends as badly as us and gifts goals the way we do has no hope. That said its still been a fantastic season, but right now I'm getting p*ssed off watching us perform like dross every week for 45mins before we make a game of it. This playing out from the back nonsense has inevitably cost us hugely. Why the hell we do is beyond my comprehension. Its suicidal.

Morsy isn't strong enough for the first goal, never a foul in a million years. You're also ignoring Hladky handling a backpass to prevent a certain goal when the score was 3-0.

@@TPH250290 If Keane had played the ball, I'd agree that Morsy should have been stronger. Clearly a foul though, nowhere near the ball, obstruction at best. Ipswich were defo rattled at 3-0 down, game state should never have reached that point. But, yes, we were lucky with the back-pass - agree on that.

Except ... on re-watching the back-pass, Hladky doesn't pick up the ball, he plays it with his hand. That's not a back-pass according to the laws of the game.

​@rogerflatt8054 yes it is, a keeper is only allowed to use his feet or head after a backpass, so he illegally handled the ball and in doing so brought down the PNE player and prevented a clear goal scoring chance, should have been a penalty let alone an indirect 6 yard freekick. Ipswich got very lucky on that one. And the 2 goal come back had nothing to do with Ipswich getting any better it was simply down to the usual Lowe on IQ tactics of 'right, 3 is enough, let's bring off all our attacking threat and go into siege mentally for 20 mins, allowing Ipswich waves of attacks knowing nothing will be coming back'. Lowe is a clown, hence why want him out. He's so negative he's worse than Southgate. We have a really strong attacking unit in Mads, millar, Keane and even browne, but Lowe consistently fails to play to our advantages and that's why we have conceded so many late goals after his masterful substitutions. A decent manager could have really done something with the squad we have. That we are still only 3 points off the play offs is a miracle. We have beaten almost all the better teams so far bar Leicester and Southampton (who we drew)... Sunderland, Leeds, Ipswich, Coventry, but waste it by losing to Sheffield Wednesday (well one win a piece but we shouldn't be losing to them) drawing with Rotherham, beaten by Huddersfield. It's as if Lowe can only motivate players for the tough games. He has to go. He's not championship level at all. And worst of all he's a scouser. This will be his last season at this great club, and good rid.

​@@rogerflatt8054how do you define 'picks up' the ball. He illegally used his hand and in so doing clearly brought the preston player down who was through on goal and his illegal actions prevented an almost certain goal. That is wrong on so many levels.

Although Jackson hasn't been great. You obviously can't start a striker who hasn't even trained with the team you absolute doughnut. Just shows inconsistency and completely disrespects the whole squad "new striker, barely know anything about our systems - starting". Jackson shouldn't be starting ever, but what you're saying is insane.

@@neilemms5831 But when you have a striker who even the opposition know is utterly mediocre & poses no real threat, then their defenders won't worry one jot about him & instead help their team out with their attacks! However our defending admittedly has been quite poor too at times!

However if our striker is pretty much useless, then the opposing team have no need to worry about him & can be more attack-minded - putting the opposition under more pressure! But you are right, our defending has to improve & has been poor at times!

...and the rb is so far back that he is not even on the screen! You can play it back a 1,000 times and you would still not see him because he is not in the camera shot. The ONLY Ipswich players who put hands up appealing were the ones looking in the opposite direction towards Riis, the others didn't , they knew. You would have to have been sat in the stand looking along the line (I was) to see him...and the linesman on the op side clearly saw him as well. @@Elliott-dh6bd

Firstly, I was in the stand looking down on the play.....the camera angle doesn't even show your rb. Why not? Because he was so far back. When he saw the through ball to Riis he knew he was playing him on and put on a quick sprint forward but after the pass.. Whatismore quite a nos. of Ipswich players knew it as well and did not appeal. Secondly taking a ball off someone is not a foul....and again no Ipswich complaints. Thirdly, the decision the ref did get wrong was not sending off your keeper for scooping a back pass off the line.....indirect free kick on 6 yards line and straight red card for preventing a goal scoring opportunity. I am not anti-Ipswich at all...far from it I've family in Suffolk and Town supporters. I'm telling you as it is. @@STST

Yes i saw exactly the same thing and i was on the finney stand directly in line with it. If there was a wider camera angle it would be obvious. These Ipswich fans are only looking at the defender closest to riis and the other one in shot, but at the moment the ball is played (by Keane if i remember right) riis was onside, but his pace at escaping his marker coupled with the incomplete picture of all the Ipswich defence makes it look offside. I'm really impressed with that linesman cause at full speed that can't have been easy to see. But lets not even get started on how at 3-0 pne should have had a 6 yard indirect free kick and their keeper a straight red for commiting a foul as the last line of defence etc. If it wasnt for lowe's usual retarded subs then ipswich would never have had a sniff at getting anywhere close to getting back in that game. And overall PNE were the much better side, right up until lowe's subs. ​@@clivelangman8696

Look more at that 2nd half performance. That's the town you'll see for the rest of the season.

@@Bongiovi_Official Maybe so. But town have played all of them twice apart from 1 game against Southampton. The other teams all still play each other. Lots of points to drop. Both Leeds and Southampton still to go through their rough patches.

That's a really radical idea, you mean like hoofing it as far away from your goal as you can. That's an interesting idea. I even bet it could work!
