Opetaia is the best fighter from Australia at the moment - he's accurate with both hands, & like Marvin Hagler, his right hook looks very fluid & natural. Massey needs a long rest after this. The punishment that he absorbed to the body was the worst I've seen in quite a while.

I’m a big Opetaia fan but gees he loads up those lefts and open to a big counter right coming in… don’t know if anyone fast enough or game enough to counter him though…. 😊
As an Aussie, Beterbiev in with Opetaia is the fight I really want to see. The Chechen fought as a Cruiser at amateur and has spoken of moving up as a final challenge. Jai isn't a big Cruiser. Turki is keen apparently, Jai & Beterbiev are keen - bring it on. 👍
Not me, that's just another fight where he can't pick up a belt. I only want to see this fight if all the other belt holders continue to dodge Opetaia which, unfortunately, is probably going to happen.
@@edcentral8295or we could get the best of both worlds hear me out, jai will fight his mandatory in December or jan then he will fight the winner of zurdo and CBS now with a fight with 3 belts I feel as there will be a rematch potential but if there isn’t he will most likely have a mandatory for one of the titles hopefully at that point Arthur has fought his ibf mandatory and Bicol and won both so when he goes up have him fight for the wbc and then have them fight to unify all the belts

Mannnn Jai is a fkn beast! Not sure if he is big enough to go up to heavyweight after running through the cruiser division, but he would be a nightmare for any of them atm except for the top two or three.

Massey is one tough guy, solid skills and will to boot but...Opetaia is a straight up killer with P4P level skills and toughness, I'm hoping to see him get in there with the other top guys in his division soon because nobody but the best can challenge him. After Opetaia unifies at cruiser which is more or less guaranteed, I think CBS can beat Ramirez but not Jai. A move up to heavyweight would be good, that's where we'll see Opetaia tested against fighters with equal or more power.
I remember Dave Allen calling Massey the easiest spar he ever had lol. Jai stay beating mediocre fighters. He should move up already and get it over and done with.
@@peternut358 If you look at the Dubios v Joshua video I've done a updated list, I think I've put Bivol at 7 or 8. I scored the fight 116-114 to Beterbiev with two even rounds,a draw was not beyond the realms possibility.
The only thing Opetia needs to fix is he drops his right hand when he throws his straight left, against a sharp counter puncher or someone with power he could honestly get dropped or KO’d. Especially in later rounds when he tends to tire out. He’s susceptible to a counter left hook.
Nothing about any of these fights is saying home of boxing. Zero atmosphere and mind numbingly banal commentary. Compare this with commentary on top rank, PBC or others stateside and the realization is “there’s light years between the two models. The two British commentators may have been worl champs; the whole world gets that, but take away thoughts from a knowledgeable fan is buzz overkill……..
@@808shortts my comment was on atmosphere and the commentary being conveyed by by 'in this case dazn'. ...there are good match ups and that's not in question. the atmosphere is akin to an amateur event. great to see a new locale happening for boxing. they tried this in macau. seemingly riyhad has got more traction right now, but that doesn't take away from the lacklustre experience of watching the fights and the excessively bland commentary.
@@jaimietew413 some can be and i'm not defending or promoting that idea. i am saying as was clear, that the commentary is horrendous (and this is a dazn problem because the us based team of grisham mannix and mora bring it: the hybrid team that they put together for saudi events...doesn't). at the same time there is no tradition of 'eventing' in saudi so the atmosphere in the stadium is missing big time. balancing that wasn't the case in the more recent UK event.
Massey said in an interview that inbetween this fight camp he got married and joe gallagher (his trainer) told him to enjoy the rest of the day and have a good time. That's not what you do in the build up of the biggest fight of your life. Obviously massey was just here for the payday. I'm sorry but that's just fraud. All professional boxers should be training all year round and to be checked up on unless their's an injury.
