One turnover and one non attempt to tackle the no8 who went waltzing through the gap to score. I really don't rate Cane. But will see how he goes once he gets more games under his belt. I hope he comes back fit and ready so i can criticise him without people making excuses when he underperforms again.
@@center__mass basically his only strength is his tackling.. and even with 15 or 20 tackles he misses a few as well. Ardie makes a little less tackles but has a higher tackling percentage.. so misses less tackles on average. Cane is an average defender away from the ruck with no inside or outside man by his side.. gets sidestepped easily in the wider channels and doesn't have the speed to correct it and chase players down.
@@killin.479 "All Blacks Captain Sam Cane wins Kelvin R Tremain Player of the Year award. All Blacks Captain Sam Cane has received the top honour at the 2020 ASB Rugby Awards tonight, claiming the Kelvin R Tremain Memorial award for overall Player of the Year, after also picking up the All Black of the Year title."
Indeed he was. I'm shaking my head at all these comments hating on him. I remember the hate he received when he was named AB captain nek minute he was the NZ player of the year as well as the All Black of the year.
@Squigy Diamond nah bud lol. Clearly you dont know what you're talking about. I suggest you actually go watch the games instead of using nonsensical stats to appease your dislike for him.
@Squigy Diamond our win rate for mainly due to the terrible selections decisions in the backline. Switching around alb and goodhue, jordie at 14, beauden at 15, not using will jordan until 15 minutes off the bench in the last game of the year
@Squigy Diamond even the great McCaw missed tackles and had the dropsies aswell, so your point is somewhat irrelevant. SC has earned the respect of his peers and the coaching staff for them to still call him captain of the ABs still, has he not? I'd trust professionals before internet couch coaches who clearly should wait till their skin clears and hit puberty before speaking complete shite.
@Squigy Diamond "he was a great player, but not anymore". I'll have to disagree with you there, in fact he is a better player than ever he was. Now at the height of his powers( at the ripe of just 29yrs of age), last year he was nothing but destructive and there is more to add to his arsenal come more time in the black Jersey. He gets injured and that's all she wrote for the blind. Putting aside the trash nunces heap on Cane, Imagine him, Whitelock, Coles and toilet Smith were starting against the boks. That's like a quarter of the ABs power right there.
He should be dominating at that level where hes playing against average joes where he gets full time trainers managing his conditioning and strength. Be a long shot on a international at level If he were to compete. He needs a full year in heartland rugby and npc to super rugby before being considered for the ABs or hes just keep injury free for the end of the year.
He's a workhorse not an X factor player. There's no way a fit Sam cane would have been as poor as Akira Ioane was against the boks. He was the All Blacks player of the year last yeah. So many NZ fans are absolutely clueless
King Country would be sssooo much better, if the blatant bias from the Northern unions was "nipped in the bud". Taumarunui teams have won the local comp, Districts last year/Eel's this…but only three players picked from the Nui. Axton Tremayne, KC player of the year last year…can't even make the development squad, let alone the Ram's…got no sympathy for KC's pathetic results.
Sam whitelock should be captain, if not Savea. This guy gets injured all the time which obviously means he’s not fit to play at international level 🤦🏾♂️
That’s not quite how it works is it mate was the AB’s best player in 2020 by quite a way and I mean u don’t manage to have around 70 international caps by being injured all the time do u
@@adammiddup-jones4563 ABs best player in 2020 due to the fact that everyone in the team carried him. Doesn’t add value to the team, just another body on the field. Definitely not the best 7 and Ian foster being ABs coach doesn’t help at all considering the fact their both from the chiefs
@@falagi11 read your first sentence again. How can he be the best all blacks player in 2020 if he was carried by the whole team? It's one or the other.
I have nothing against Cane, and have always supported him as part of the squad. However, his medical/physical issues must be a big concern to his friends and family also. I’ll leave it at that. Side note - Kieran Read, after several severe concussions returned a less effective AB player but always got the nod.
