Great game for the caps to get there feet back. that wasn't a straight red that was more of a shove from behind because he was being a prick kicking the ball away to waste time.
Violent conduct, doesn't matter how hard you hit a guy, it's that you hit him. If you thrust your studs into somebody, hit/slap/punch them, Bite them (Saurez), step on their legs/hands/arms/head or back (Cavalini) you're out of the game. It's well spelled out in the rules. Weirdly however... if he had pushed or shoved him maybe they both just get a yellow, even though pushing and shoving is technically physical, usually doesn't fall under violent conduct. It's a red card, but it's one that probably 99% of players can avoid by venting their frustration in a better way than lashing out violently.
Agreed, that was a terrible call and one of the reasons I can't get into soccer that much, too much diving and whining and other rules that are a turn off.
All day every day putting your hand in someone’s face is a red card in every pro league in the world. Where you make contact or not or with what force, if you atttempt to hit someone in the head you’re gone

No I think just a red card to the Whitecap. Terrible behavior. I hate to see that crap from a team I support. I certainly hope the leaguebfollows up and reverses the one game suspension to the dynamo player and fines the whitecap for bad acting. Only way to stop this.
